Actress Hilda Dokubo Says Poverty And Frustration Almost Turned Her into A Prostitute

Renowned Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo, has recounted how she roughly and carelessly lived her life as a young growing girl, and how she almost took to prostitution out of frustration following her father’s death.

The former Special Adviser on youth affairs to Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers State, made this known in Lagos at the weekend where she ministered as a Pastor at the Fresh Oil International Church.
She said some of her past activities are unknown to many as she turned her back on God and everything that mattered.

Dokubo said, “I was born with a silver spoon, but death turned me poverty-stricken after my father died when I was just nine.

“I turned away from God at that point, because I felt disappointed that despite how much my father loved and served God, he still died; so after my dad died, my mother completely lost her mind. If she were living in the US, I’m sure she would have been diagnosed as a mental case.

“You know, in Nigeria, we don’t consider people mad until they have started eating from dustbins. I rebelled against God at that point, and I stopped going to church at the age of nine. However, I was a very brilliant girl, and I got admission into the university at the age of 16.

“I became rascally and did what girls like that do. I slept with a man, and I became pregnant. It wasn’t the Holy-Spirit that impregnated me. My mom was devastated and disappointed in me because of that.

“I was also angry with her because ‘her God’ killed my father, and we stopped speaking to each other.
“One day, a man came to me and said he needed a barge. I didn’t know what it was, and he told me it was used to store oil. I then recalled that I had once seen a barge in the compound opposite ours.
“I went to the neighbour and told him I needed the barge. He asked me what I needed it for, but I told him not to worry. I told them to put the barge in front of my mother’s house.

“At that point, the man who told me he needed the barge came back, and dropped sacks of money containing N2m with my mom because I was in school at that time. Two weeks later, he returned with N500, 000, and I was dumbfounded.
“Before then, I had never seen N100, 000 together, but there I was as a millionaire at 17, not knowing what to do with the money.

“Your life cannot change for the better if you don’t challenge destiny. Even God challenged destiny.

“I would have become a prostitute, but I became restless and challenged destiny,” the actress added.

    3. Madam, you are not alone in this. In fact this is my life right now, lost my job some months ago, all I see are married men doing everything possible to get in-between my legs. Sometimes I'm tempted to give in, but then, but I remember there are consequences.

I am very beautiful to allow a married man ruin my life. But their offer is tooo tempting.

      God will never forsake me.

Say you wanted to go into prostitution cause you felt like.

  23. Don't judge her except you have been in a situation of having what to lean on or who to turn to in helpless situation. Some of the people that go into prostitution do so cos of helplessness. I pray God touches their heart to look for something doing than selling their bodies

  33. I just hate it when people tell lies, yes, if u are not ready to tell the whole truth, then shut the f**k up. As a teen I knew Hilda, then she was very popular in nollywood , she comes to my area to see a friend by name Joy, @ elekahia, Joy and Hilda were know prostitute . her dressing was a no-no, she held her appointment so its not so long ago. and then I just wonder what she had to offer to youth rather than lies from the pit of hell.
change is inevitable, so if she have changed for real than thank God. Am not hating, I love Hilda and her lovely kids just setting the record straight.

  35. My pastor always warns us that if we can't give the complete testimony, if we exaggerate the testimony or if we lie to make the testimony seem 'woooow'.... then we shouldn't bother coming out to say itπŸ˜‚ Aunty Hilda, if na my church pastor would have taken the mic and looked you in the eyes and asked you to re-explain exactly how this matter is a testimony, so that we can pray 'in those lines'.
Meanwhile, that barge.... na oil bunkering things? Be like the person carry oil for barrels inside the barge. Cross river to shore. Sold and gave her her share of the money.... if this testimony is true, that is 😊Cos those Delta-Rivers boys don't play with them pipelines oh.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Barge is used off shore. Those in the oil industry know what it is. Sometimes, the oil companies rent it from individuals and they make a lot of money. I know a lady now deceased in old Port Harcourt township. She used to have a lot of Barges and that was how she made her money till she was killed in her own home.
Having said all these, I know Hilda attended "Agaracha Girls" That School on Harbour Road. Those Girls nor be am. Hilda used to run the streets with some wayward girls from Holy Rosary and ACMGS Elelenwo. Their Story nor be today e go finish. They slept with old married Men for money when we nor even sabi anything about Sugar Daddies. Well, preach on to who cares. Most of them nor even pass WAEC then.

  38. Hehehe Anty Hilda you shouldnt be ashamed of your past, instead encourage youngs gurls not to take that part .

I remember how you drive a bus to delta park(uniport) most weekend that year(2005) to carry gurls to party which am sure you pimp out to govt house big boys.

Am not judging you,"all have sinned"

    Let me go anon
