Armsgate: Buhari Has Allegedly Ordered Dasuki’s Release But He Must Return Stolen Funds

President Muhammadu Buhari is reported to have directed relevant authorities to recover funds said to have been misappropriated by a former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col Sambo Dasuki(rtd), and set him free.

This revelation is coming that a time when a Professor of International Studies and author of Buhari’s biography, ‘Muhammadu Buhari: The Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria’ had stated that there was no rift between the President and Dasuki, pointing out that they are in-laws .

The Department of State Services, DSS, had in December arrested Dasuki  for allegedly misappropriating $15 billion of funds meant for purchase of arms for troops fighting Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.

Dasuki has been in detention since his arrest despite been granted bail by several Nigerian courts and recently the ECOWAS regional court, which ruled that he be released.

Disclosing this yesterday in Abuja, an aide to Buhari assured that the former NSA will be released once the misappropriated funds under his watch is returned, Vanguard reports

The aide said, “I can tell you that the President is not comfortable with the continued detention of Dasuki despite the offences he allegedly committed against Nigeria and its people.
“The only condition Mr. President has asked Dasuki to fulfil is to refund the huge sum of public funds which were allegedly diverted under his watch as the NSA.

“And I want to tell you that we have the approval of Mr. President to release him (Dasuki) from detention as soon as he brings the money,” the official said.

    2. Stella, let's not be quick to conclude that this same Dasuki-gate went to ECOWAS court and the court acted on his favour instructing the FG to release him on bail and compensate him with 15M if my figures are right. Though, conditions were reeled out to his bail, of which I don't think the FG will be adamant.
If FG is to compensate him, I believe Dasuki retuning all the looted funds is the right direction to go.
      I applaud his decision.

    3. So Alhaji president can arrest, jails and release you at will? Send his gestapo to arrest accused judges at 1:00am!

Believe me, this isn't a democracy. No respect for the rule of law, just a strong man abusing power at will.

Over the next 30 months Buharinwill increasing get backed into a corner, he will become paranoid and so will abuse power at exponentially increasing levels.

Rather than set forth a well thought out and reasoned plan to reform the system, he has botched himself down with chasing down shadows and persons. He has set himself to fail. He will fail...so sad. I had so much trust in his resolve. sheer will power, tenacity and ability to be reasonable and strong. I thought he had a plan. Shame, I was just so wrong!!!!

With buhari lost, we have no more credible men/women....we are now officially a nation of vultures. An abatoir of pigs! shamelessly wallowing in bloody mud of lost dreams, destruction, and death. So long, good night. Its now a free for all, all bets are off, no rules (make it up as you go)...it's survival of the greediest.

    4. Honestly, as much as I would have loved that looters be punished severely, I think that I'm quite happy with the decision to release and "acquit" anyone who's ready to refund whatever they stole.

If plea bargain works then the power that be should go for it. After all it'll save tax payers money, vis-a-vis trying to prosecute them etc.

Although they should be named and shamed before they are allowed to return their loots. Eheh

  2. Why painting the whole story? It's simple to state that he's still under detention until he reaches the bail terms and conditions.

  7. Related by marriage. Yes.This tells us the kind of man we have as leader. While young igbo youth and the other Nigerian youths would rather listen to or read rubbish from idiots like FFK & Fayose instead of standing by this man to clean up this country. This man they call a tribalist, authorised and cleared the bundling of a Hausa-Fulani man Like himself into a crate at Heathrow airport enroute Muritala Muhammed airport Lagos to come stand trial for corruption and the man Umaru Dikko only escaped it cos' a British customs insisted on having the crate opened up.

  14. Stella you didnt hear that buhari just submitted the names of two northerners for approval as supreme court judges. Now i undrrstand why he had to drop the forgery charges against saraki and ekweremmadu just so this appointment will be approved. I believe thats the price he had to pay to achieve that.

    This country is a joke

How can a president be a deceptive dirty liar like this? This is not the change Nigerians voted for. The Dullard of Daura too dey lie

  19. Probably when he return the money, he will resume his holiday. Empty headed He-Goat.
He dropped the charge(s) against Saraki and Ike so that they can approve the names of the Supreme Judges he submitted...

After the Judges case, may be some University Professors might be arrested or even some Doctors, etc etc etc etc till he leaves office.

    Rub me I rub you.
