Jonathan Says Dasuki Did Not Steal $2.2 Billion

Jonathan is talking...

Ex president, Goodluck Jonathan, on Monday, while speaking at the famous Oxford Union in the United Kingdom on the subject of promoting youth entrepreneurship, said it was impossible for Sambo Dasuki, the National Security Adviser (#NSA) during his administration, to steal $2.2 billion as claimed by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (#EFCC).

According to a report by Premium Times, Jonathan disclosed that it was “not just possible” for Dasuki to steal $2.2 billion after his administration procured several equipment for the country’s military.

“They said the National Security Adviser stole $2.2billion. I don’t believe somebody can just steal $2.2 billion. We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army and so on and so forth and you are still saying 2.2 billion, so where did we get the money to buy all those things?”

he asked while responding to a question about the alleged missing arms procurement fund now referred to a Dasukigate by the Nigerian media.

While admitting that corruption was an issue during his administration, the former president said that some of the allegations have been “exaggerated”.
“Yes, there were some issues; yes, there are still corruption issues; but some of it were blown, I’d say exaggerated, and they give a very bad impression about our nation. You cannot say the national security adviser stole $2.2billion. It is not just possible,” he said.

The immediate past president however, said that as some of the corruption cases are still in court, he would rather allow the legal processes to reveal the facts of the matter and that he doesn’t want to appear as challenging the incumbent government.

    2. Queen of this blog, you are nothing but a Charlatan, what does anyone expect from someone like you that has a total disconnect between your brain and spinal cord. I have read the sickening opinion of a pap brain like you.
Yes! "BOUGHT WHAT"? Why don't you let the army and the soldiers at the war front defend him. All you liars. Your Idol GEJ should be deaf and dumb by now, not opening mouth to talk arrant nonsense.
Did he buy warship for the Military or for TOMPOLO? Did he buy ammunitions for the military or for TOMPOLO and his boys? Where is the warships? And who are those using them?
Are they using them to fight Boko Haram or they are using them to cause problems in the Niger delta ? You and your maggot infested colleague like Eka Joy should go and die peacefully.
Who the fuck do you think you are? Going under every comment to attack someone for airing opinions that are highly cerebral, much more than what your impermeable atrophied brain can assimilate.
What do you even know? Nothing! Every post on this blog has a class. Focus on posts concerning voodoo and leave intellects to discuss reasonably.

I just don't understand how someone, possibly someone who has never and will never have someone like Gej in his or her family lineage will be forming champion behind his or her keypad and call a whole man like Gej a cow..........like seriously???? #smh#

  10. This guy is taking his freedom and non-prosecution for corruption for granted! Past Presidents in many progressive countries have been tried and jailed for corruption and misappropriation of funds - if he is arrested and tried, he won't be the first and last. I pray Buhari damns the rants of Niger Delta citizens/militants, the consequences and prosecute Jonathan; and let an upright and fearless judge determine if he is guilty or not. Let due and transparent judicial process be followed. Why are your aides refunding monies and pursuing plea bargains in various courts now? If you are not guilty of corruption, it is only a confirmation of your being clueless and incompetent to govern Nigeria. By the way, Buhari and all his aides should be put on trial after his tenure, to determine if they were corrupt or not. But let a precedence be set by this administration, with Jonathan!

see, GEJ bought weapons and that was how the govt started reclaiming territories. if he didnt buy then what weapon is PMB using now to fight boko haram.
let me give you classified gist, remember the plane that was caught in SA with cash? that was nigerian govt trying to buy arms, and we all should hail gej cos he was being cajoled with same sex marriage and all other ish in order to be provided with arms by america. he refused and decided to buy frm SA but atiku used his connect with zuma to embarrass the govt. they resorted to getting mercenaries from russia who then provided tactical knowledge and all to fight boko haram.
if you dont live in bornu, you wont understand the magnitude of the situation. if got soo bad that in security meetings, things like getting marabouts to help the situation came up, that was what bafarawa was paid for.
pmb is setting bad precedence with the dasuki matter cause national security goes beyond arms and all. even the ONSA is designed in such a way that money is easily accessible to secure the territorial integrity of this country. for those that wanna say thrash, am sure you have heard of americas black budget that agencies like homeland, cia use or draw from.

  17. Stella, he actually bought the things he said they bought. Yes they bought them. Before buhari it wasn't as if they were not fighting Boko Haram. They were fighting them and they had weapons. Now I only think that enough was not bought. But I remember it was in the media when they bought things. They even had drones and all.

I believe the last administration stole fund but that 2.2 billion dollars is an exaggerated about. It's been over a year or this case going on and they haven't even account for 100 millions dollars. 2.2 billion is too much a money to be stolen.

That been said, the president is doing a good job fighting corruption but I fear what he is doing is media trial. He brings issues to the media without proof and gullible Nigerians fall for it. Why? Finish your case and then come to the media. Because my coming to the media first, you will make the other person unbelievable..

    ReplyDelete
  18. Stella, if he didn't buy weapons and all those things he mentioned, what did buhari use to fight bh two weeks after taking over.

Or is it easy to procure such heavy mercenaries within two weeks even with the 'non existing' money.

Pls let's forget this media trial this government has been perpetrating.

we the ''youths'' that should always desire better things and never condole rubbish are the ones praising an ex president due to tribalism or sentiments.
weapon was bought and if i can remember, one of the helicopter had the wrong engine size installed and they were all fairly used and bought 2x the price for the original amount apart from the monthly servicing money tht was used regularly.
this and much more and it didn't start with Jonathan or babangida. its been an embedded prob.
as we Nigerians have laid our bed, so we gonna lay.
we prefer corruption and eating away our future or children's future but want the best to happen.
