Labour Room Drama 55 And 56

Woman drama...

LRD 55

Stella dearie I greet you, i want to share my LRD also for the birth of both my children, the two were entirely different. The 1st one goes like this. . .
I got pregnant almost immediately after marriage and was working then but I had to stop because the doctor advised bedrest I was bleeding around 7months due to stress, apart from that everything went smoothly.

The day I gave birth I had gone for antenatal visit by 10am, my Edd was 10days away so I was still thinking I had time, during the check the doctor said madam your baby is ready to come out hmm me i replied but doctor I'm not ready yet o, then he said oya come let a nurse check you, I was 2cm dilated what I didn't know then was that the nurse did a membrane swipe in the process omg lol.

I got up, the doctor just said madam call your husband hope he is not far, I said no and told him I needed to go get my baby bag. So I went home again, got my bag and called my mom to join me,  in the car my mom don start prayers o me my belle don dey pain me i just squeeze face, time was 2pm. When we got to the hospital I met  one other lady in the Labour room, for my mind I say thank God no be only me go dey here.

I did braids and they were free on my shoulders so one of the nurses said "pack your hair" I replied her that I'm good, she just shake head say i never start make i no worry nobody go tell me" I think say na joke lol when the pain enter gear I pack hair, remove  dress,  find wrapper from my bag tie for chest. I look back now and laugh but that time was mad!

By evening my hubby don close from work come, saw me briefly dey ask me plenty questions  before my mum told him to  wait at reception because i just Dey vex anyhow my pain don times 1milion by then. I had reached 8cm by 7pm, one the nurse in charge of me Dey beg me to born quick say she like go house that evening, I just laugh for my mind say u for con help me  born na mtsheeeew. Na so I dey the 8cm till 11pm no change and in pains I was just screaming Jesus. Suddenly I felt the push, I screamed the baby is coming the nurse said don't push u will damage your cervix, I no even care sef, she rushed out to get the doctor, came back with him, before I look I see plenty instruments, they ended up using forceps and my baby came out screaming lol we thank God. I got a 3rd degree tear, kai e pain me but they sewed it up pretty good #wink*

My 2nd LRD goes like this, the 9 months was easy no issues on the day i gave birth I even went to drink correct fresh fish pepper soup and drank wine my Edd was 2 days away, when me, hubby and son came back i just start to cook and arrange house I had this strength from nowhere. I went to ease myself and noticed the "show" i could not believe my eyes I almost wanted to "unsee" it because I never wan enter labour room lol.

I came out calmly, told hubby and he just start to panic, I then called my doctor and he said just come to the hospital, time was 8pm the only thing I wanted by then was to sleep but we had to go, on the way my belle cramps started and i was in the back sit trying to remember what labour felt like again lol It was inevitable.

This was another private hospital and i was led to the Labour room(only me this time) for "checking"(I hate it so much) i was 4cm and time was almost 10pm, my mom don reach here by then. The pain was out of this world by 7cm i begged for painkillers and was given tramadol smh the thing no make impact sef.

I got to the same 8cm and stopped, na so we dey o reach 4am no show, I think i slept in between contractions hahahaha precious 10 seconds rest. When it got unbearable they gave me oxygen and I heard the nurse say my baby's heart beat is getting low... I asked for hubby they told me he's in one room with my son sleeping for my mind i say he try well well mtsheeeew,i say oya make them call my mom, she came and her face when she saw me made me panic more, machine beside me began to beep signaling my baby is in distress, the doctor just advised Cs at that point i was so glad because I just wanted the pain to stop.

They had to wake my hubby to sign, and he came to see me saying "honey dooh" na so I just give am bad eye  lol
In the theatre my baby came out in 10mins meanwhile I was gisting with the doctors, mehn was I glad! Pretty girl and she fine pass her mama lol there goes my story.

..............................................................................................................

LRD 56

I have been postponing this but my story and testimony is too beautiful, I just had to share. Please ignore my mistakes.  My first son’s labor was quite uneventful. I was over 40weeks. The hospital asked me to come over for tests before I can be induced. I went with my bags preparing to go shopping at the mall with my aunt as Sears was doing crazy crazy sales that week and we had to return some things we got earlier and shop some more.

So anyway, I got there and during my scan the doc said I was already in labor and the baby wasn’t moving well so I had to be induced. 16 hrs later, after epidural (I came to the world to enjoy jor) my baby was born. The highlight was when I was pushing and something started smelling, I asked my aunt who was with me in the labor room and she was like kai u wan kill us with your shit smell. Lol.

Now drama began when my daughter was born. The hospital I had my son had tripled their bill so I had to go to my Aunt’s house in Orlando. Not knowing that she had already booked a family vacation the same period with my due date. So I had to choose a birth center because those places allow children to be around when you are giving birth unlike hospitals (it didn’t hurt that it was a lot cheaper, omo dollar in this recession na craze).

So the day before my aunt traveled, the midwife promised to come and pick me if I get into labor and for a special fee would come home for my scheduled visit. When she came that morning, I was already dilated at 4cm. I had been doing everything to induce labor, drinking red raspberry leaf tea, exercise, dancing, drinking and inserting evening primrose oil, nipple stimulation, pumping of breast, you name it. I had already done two membrane sweeps.

Anyway, the day she came for the check up, during another membrane sweep I had 2 huge contractions. I was having lil contractions a day before. The midwife was like, I won’t be surprised if I come back this night. I continued in pain from 3-10pm. Initially the contractions was coming every 5 mins. I remember I was video chatting with mom  while cooking and taking care of my son and whenever contractions comes, she was counting and kabashing….(mothers and drama). She kept on telling me to call the midwife. I was like she is monitoring my progress but if the contractions come down to 3 or 4 mins, she will come down.

By 10pm, the contractions became more intense but moved to like every 11mins. I called the midwife and she was like ok she will come over. Omo i calculate the 200 dollars I will pay if she comes and its not labor and she has to go back. I told her that I would try and sleep it off since it is still 11 mins apart that it can’t be real labor na. The pain started getting worse and so I put water in the bath cos I wanted to do water birth to help reduce the pain as I wait. Whenever I felt any contraction, I will run into the bath. Also, I used epidural for my son so I didn’t really know how painful it could get so I assumed it may still be false labor. Ps I was home alone with my 3 yr old son as my aunts family had travelled.

By 12.25 I was struggling to watch a show on my ipad and my water just broke. I jumped and called the midwife that my water had broken ad the pain was real. She was like she is on her way and will be there in 35mins and I should open the door for her. I covered my son properly and started packing my bags downstairs and opened the door. I called my hubby in Nigeria and put everything on video chat. I wore my bra-top that I was to wear in the pool for the water birth. I opened up under bed pads and set them on the couch where I lay as I was waiting. The pain was baba.

I remember screaming I will never do this again, whenever my hubby said sorry on the phone I will scream shut up, u caused this. You are there probably relaxing and saying sorry. Kai, if I saw him that day, I for kill am.

Next thing, I felt like I wanted to poo, I ran to the toilet, but ran back because I remembered it may be the baby. I looked at the time 15 more mins till the midwife gets in. Today na today. Next thing I set my pads on the floor to prepare to poo and I pushed to poo and the baby’s head popped. If u see how I screamed, my hubby on the phone was shouting and crying. I dont know where I threw the ipad but I just heard him screaming. I was shouting baby's head is out, I don’t know what to do…..kai. I just landed on the floor and held her head and started crawling to get more pads so I wont destroy my aunts rug.

Hmmmm. I looked at the clock and still 8  mins before the midwife's arrival, I was screaming, I don’t know what to do. I remembered all my birthing videos I watched and some that did the natural birth unassisted so I squatted and pushed 1 more time and the baby came out to her shoulder, I screamed. Next thing the midwife ran in immediately. She heard me scream, she didn’t lock her car door, didn’t carry her tools and thankfully I had opened the door so she just flew in and held the baby, supported as I gave the final push and my daughter was born by 1.06. If she came in 1 minute later, I would have done it totally alone. She put the baby on me and ran to her car to get her tools. That was when I asked her to take me a picture as I was on d cold floor with my baby on top of me. Stella find the pic attached for your eyes only.

Next thing I heard my hubby calling his whole village to say his daughter has been born. Kai men sha, receiving congrats when no be u sufa d sufa. Anyway, I started receiving calls as I dey floor o. My sis called and I was still pushing the placenta and she was like whats happening I thought the baby is out. I couldn’t answer. My hubby on the ipad was shouting whats happening? Are you having twins. The midwife explained and set the ipad properly so he could see the process.

Toh after everything. She called 2 nurses that she had directed to go the birth center to come and stay with me the whole day. To take care of my son, cook, do laundry, even clean my poo that landed on the rug before I went to the hard floor.  Walahi those people were wonderful. By 3 am, I went to bed. My son woke up by 7am, they took him downstairs to take care of him, bath him etc. By evening, they left me. I ordered Chinese for dinner, my son no gree chop o, so I made him indomie and slept. Next day, life continued. I just thank God for the most traumatic day and yet beautiful day of my life. I keep on thinking of all the things that could have gone wrong with me pushing a baby alone and it can only be God.

@Poster 2, that's wonderful of you, but if the nurse had not showed up that time, you will still give birth all alone without any complication. My mum gave birth to all her children at home without any midwife in presence

  28. Ihe umunwanyi dey see for pikin...in fact, na God

That was how one woman was labelled "Igala witch" because she delivers her kids at home and alone.

One, she was with her husband, the man slept and around 11pm, the man just heard baby's cry and woke to see a baby. The man became afraid that he married a witch.

Another one, the woman was alone and her neighbours do not associate with her much, she jejely entered her room gave birth, held and cut the cord. Remaining the placenta, well she told me the quickiest way to push out the placenta was by putting a cooking spoon or SEMO 'turner" in her throat, with the urge to vomit, the placenta came out. Women are strong and it's all about Jehovah
