- About 3,000 legislative aides to Senators and members of the House of Representatives Tuesday protested over the non-payment of their salaries and allowances at the National Assembly. The aides who disrupted activities at the National Assembly accused the lawmakers of owing them several months of entitlements, an situation that has made it difficult for them to meet their basic needs.


- No fewer than 12 people were reportedly killed on Wednesday in Kaduna and Katsina States following bloody clashes between members of Shi’ite Islamic sect and some youths in both states. The group’s insistence to embark on processions to mark its Ashura Day resulted to the clashes in both States.



- Explosion Wednesday hit Muna garage in Maiduguri, Borno State, killing and injuring several people. Even though there are conflicting casualties figures, hospital sources in Maiduguri, said 18 people died while 26 others got injured in the blast which was carried out by a Boko Haram suicide bomber.


- Following Aisha Buhari’s interview in the media where she reportedly said that the wrong set of people had taken all strategic positions around her husband even when they did not vote in the last election, President Buhari is reportedly mounting pressure on the BBC not to air the full interview and has ordered Aisha Buhari to stop granting interview to the media henceforth.



-The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Wednesday assured Nigerians that Patience Jonathan would face the ‘music’ if found wanting for any corrupt practices. Mr Iliyasu Kwarbai, the Commission’s Deputy Director of Operations said this after receiving a petition from some protesters at the Ikoyi office of the EFCC.


-In what appears like a major shake-up at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, no fewer than 21 senior officials were reportedly sacked while 10 others were demoted. Those affected included directors, general managers and deputy managers. Several reasons have been given as to why the government carried out the shake-up.


- Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowo, has refuted report that he was flown abroad for medical treatment due to the injury he sustained in a domestic accident. The Governor said even though he sustained a minor injury after a wall tile fell on his head, he was never flown abroad as reported by a section of the media.


- The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, has condemned the action of the Department of State Services, DSS, for arresting and raiding the homes of some sitting judges. The conference reminded the authorities that Nigeria is not a banana republic, hence due process must always be followed in the ongoing war against corruption. the CBCN said this through its president and Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama.



- The Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday said it had granted an opportunity for Boko Haram members wishing to surrender to do so now, as it will continue to carry out intensive bombardment at their Sambisa forest hideout in Borno. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, disclosed this at a news conference in Maiduguri.



- President Muhammadu Buhari will today begin a three-day official visit to Germany in order to engaged the country’s leadership on issues relating to the economy and security. This was disclosed on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

  9. My simple question is this, all the money that this administration have been recovering from the so called 'fight against corruption', what have they been doing with it??? The country isn't moving forward even with all the recovered looted funds. Buhari and his cabinet needs to provide an answer to his mind bogging question. We only hear the begining but never see the end. #whereisthesocalledrecoveredlootedfunds
