-. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has scrapped the use of scratch cards for its services and transactions, saying use of scratch cards is now archaic. It disclosed that it would start using the platform of pin vending to check all forms of fraudulent practices which was prevalent with the use of scratch cards. This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.


- The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it has dismissed from service, 17 junior officers over drug addiction, certificate forgery, theft and absenteeism. The service spokesman, Mr Wale Adeniyi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.


-. The 21 freed Chibok Girls on Sunday met with their parents in Abuja amid tears. They however narrated that for “one month and 10 days’’ of their abduction by the Boko Haram insurgents, they stayed without food in the bush.
Ms Gloria Dame, one of the rescued girls, narrated this while giving testimony on behalf of her colleagues at a DSS health facility in Abuja.

-. President muhammadu Buhari has insisted his wife should stay out of politics as her place is rightly in the kitchen, his bedroom and to take care of him and his entire household. The President reiterated his earlier statement in an interview with DW’s Phil Gayle in Germany.


-Report says following the continuous scarcity of dollars, some Nigerian banks have suspended the use of their ATM machines in overseas and other online transactions involving foreign currencies. Stambic IBTC bank, Standard Chartered Bank and GTB had already announced this development on Friday.


- The Christain Association of Nigeria, CAN, has hailed the effort of President Muhammadu Buhari over the release of 21 of the Chibok girls by Boko Haram insurgents. The President of CAN, Rev Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, on behalf of the organization also charged the Federal Government to ensure the remaining girls are released.



-The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has threatened to carry out an ‘internal revolution against political, traditional, religious and opinion leaders from Igboland for being insensitive to the plight of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, and other detained pro-Biafra activists. MASSOB, in a statement issued on Sunday by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, faulted the silence of most prominent Igbo leaders who should be advocating for the release of their people who are suffering for the emancipation of the land.

Following the arrest of some judges and the raid of their homes by security agents, a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje, has filed a N50bn suit against President Muhammadu Buhari, the Department of State Services and its Director-General, Lawal Daura, for violating the rights of the judges. Others joined in the suit are the Police IG, the National Judicial Council and the Attorney General of the Federation.


-. The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has debunked the ongoing speculation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Germany was for medical purpose. Okorocha who was part of the team that accompanied the president told State House correspondents in Abuja on Sunday, that the official engagements of Buhari in Germany, had no connection, whatsoever, with medication. He said they only went to a hospital to see a General who was receiving treatment in the country.



-. Report says the University of Lagos has expelled 125 students and rusticated 198 others for various offences, including examination malpractices during the last academic session. Report says the list of the affected students were published on the University’s website on Sunday.
