EFCC Says MMM Is Under Surveillance

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed ongoing surveillance on the MMM investment scheme.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, gave this indication in an interview with DAILY POST on the sidelines of a training programme in Port Harcourt.

Uwujaren, however, said the House of Representatives cannot direct the EFCC to investigate what he described as faceless wonder bank like MMM.

He said the anti-graft agency was also watching other online schemes that promise huge returns on investments.

The EFCC spokesman said preliminary investigations have shown that such online schemes thrive in countries that are facing economic recession.

He warned that there was big chance of desperate subscribers on such platforms of losing their investments.

“We can only arrest people based on the evidence that we have. The House made a resolution but the resolution is a public announcement.

    5. Our leaders are wicked, they don't have anything to offer us yet they want to frustrate mmm that is sustaining people in this recession. Buhari and co leave MMM o, is it ur fraud?

    6. The only reason they wanna stop it I because they are not getting commission from it. They get commission from naija bet and others, and people are not saving in banks like before again, cos the interest on MMM is quite better and under a month, you are richer. If MMM gives them 1% of the money coming in, they will be happy and shut up. There are only after their gains. #Nigeria and greed.

No body told me this, she opened her MMM account and I saw everything, chaiiiii, she use the money to get the latest tecno Phantom 6+ abi na 7+,

Oh boyyyyyyyyy I was just amazed,

I told her yesterday that babe MMM bought u phone **lol

    9. The Monkey Money Madness! (MMM) Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced that he would buy monkeys for N100 each. The villagers seeing that there were so many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at N100 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. He further announced that he would now buy at N200. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished and people started going back to their farms. The offer rate increased to N250 but the supply of monkeys became so little that it took much effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch one. The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at N500! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf. In the absence of the man, his assistant told the villagers: ''Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that my OGA has bought from you, I will sell them to you at N350 and when my OGA returns from the city, you can sell it to him at N500''. The villagers squeezed out all their HARD EARNED savings and bought all the monkeys. The most greedy ones among them even sold their lands to purchase many MONKEYS, hoping to make a huge profit without labor. Then... They never saw the man or his assistant. Only monkeys everywhere! Remember the last offer was 250 and he has sold all the monkeys back to the villagers at the rate of 350. Now who is loosing? MMM patrons, be warned doomsday is near. Welcome to # MMM.The world of Monkeys!

    10. The truth is that no one will ever show you their source and secret of lasting wealth. Once they do, then look very well. There is a trap somewhere. These people are not investors, they don't have any products, where is the profit coming from??? No one can explain that.
They thrive by the money new converts bring into the business, once people stop bringing money, the business will collapse and Guess what, almost everyone has been ploughing in so that they can carry their chunk in DECEMBER but guess what? If everyone wants to collect in December then where will all the money to pay them come from? This MMM will crash this December rush, if it survives it, then it will stand the test of time. Let's see. Don't be fooled. 30percent of whatever you invest? Hmnnn? Without any form of work? Or business? Come on. In this recession that all businesses are collapsing, even if they are trading with the money, what kind of profitable trade is that? Let Greed not take the better part of our suffering.

    1. stupid EFCC mind your business. They are the greatest thieves we have, heard a story on embelembe, how they arrested an innocent person and collected his money. Please leave us alone to do as we please with our money. We don't give our money to an platform, we pay each other, why can't they just understand that this is a thrift kind of business.

    2. More than half of Efcc staff are participants of mmm, Dats y they r speaking English and partially in support. In the end nothing de happen.

    3. Whatever analysis they make of MMM, they can go on. The difference between is when people ventured into risks, others were busy contemplating the definition of risk.
MMM's idealogy is as simple as ABC, yet people are still pondering about how they pay 30percent. A friend told me her brother put in 120k and after he got 150k, he stopped. I had to ask her, so your brothers financial goal in life is a paltry 50k? Different platforms have sprung up after MMM came into light. MMM still tops the chart. It's just like a typical osusu setting, MMM just happens to be on a large scale, I use my money to help someone, when it's my turn, someone is there to help me. And if we all decide to stick to the game, instead of pulling out because u got 50k, you could buy ur dream car, nd own ur own house. Someone I was feeding begged me to join MMM in March, I said it will soon crash. Now, that guy is still doing MMM and building his house. If the negative participants on MMM are pulling out cuz I might crash December, your loss, everyday is 1 percent profit for me. And there are still a lot of people like me who will never pull out. Contact me to join MMM. 2C19AA54

  36. Well, it's not surprising FG wants to clamp down on MMM.

    Abi wetin una expect before?
With inflation going 11-year high, banks retrenching in thousands, Oil revenue shrinking by the day, and FG raising a RED flag about impending doom called FAMINE, will come to the aid of the masses???

MMM, no doubt, has its inherent risks, but recall when several banks in Nigeria collapsed with billions of Naira in customers money lost. How much does NDDC gives according to the constitution? So, is that not a risk on its own?

The platform says you should invest having known the risks and that you are of sound mind. Period. Has the FG clamped down on the same rogues who ammased public wealth, purchase exotic cars even in these harsh economic periods, apportion stupendous amount as sitting allowances when innocent and hapless workers groan in abject poverty? Workers sacrifice a greater part of their lives for decades to a system that further aggravate their hopelessness when they queue up in rain and sunshine for pensions. So, tell me, who are the real scammers?

Funerals are being celebrated by the day in their ever-increasing numbers due to the cronic economic lifestyle introduced by the government.

Live and let live. Not even the 5k could be paid, yet billions of Naira are being stollen by the day

We look forward to an enabling environment. Not threats to clamp down on avenues where poor masses look forward to.

  41. It is impossible for the FG of Nigeria or any other world power for that matter to shot down MMM.
    This is for several reasons,

1.MMM servers are the most advanced set of servers in the World... It is accessed by more that 200 million people world wide who visit it Atleast 2-5 times a day... Yet, the serve is never down.

    2. MMM servers are not even hosted in Nigeria, so how can the FG shot it down.

    3. MMM has no physical office in Nigeria, so how can the FG shot it down..

    4. Participating in MMM isn't illegal and participants are not breaking any law... If donating money to a fellow man is illegal then it means the federal government must be ready to arrest everyone in Nigeria because we all donate money to friends and families but that's obviously impossible.

    5. The South African government earlier in the year tried to shot down MMM South Africa on the basis that it is a ponzi scheme but they failed. MMM South Africa participants took the government to court and won the case. The government had to make a withdrawal of some of the negative things they had published allot MMM.
Just 2 weeks ago, the president of South Africa came out publicly to advise unemployed youths to embrace MMM.

    6. So, in the same way, MMM Nigeria can never be shot down by the FGN. All we need to do is continue our now PH and GH and keep smiling to the bank.

I.e you get 50k as your referral bonus plus the 50k you initially put up which would have yielded 15k as interest in addition to your registration bonus. It goes on and on like that.
