  11. HBD grandma, I doubt anyone with sickle cell will want to be wicked to any child. My husband has got sickle cell and we know what we both go through during crisis.
I got to the UK and found out my genotype is AS during pregnancy after I have done series of test in Nigeria and did one here before we got married but Gods name be praised we have 2 kids and they are AS. Its all to the glory of God.
May God strengthen all those going through crisis or heal those with the disease.
Thank God for the NHS and awesome Sickle Cell team we've been able to manage my husbands condition.
    God has indeed been faithful.

  16. Most sickle cell ladies who try to get pregnant usually lose their lives...have heard and known unfortunate ladies that couldn't make it during the pregnancy, while birthing and after.

  27. Stella is it not OK for them to make babies with AA partners?
This woman is warrior for sure!
    Happy 91st supernana
I hope this does not encourage AS to marry AS and have kids with hope that the sickler child will beat it.
    Some struggles are avoidable.

    1. Thank u jare. Stella ur comment is way off and disrespectful to sicklers. So they can't Marry and have non ss kids? Did they tell u nana married a sickler? I beg apologise to them!!

    2. I think you misunderstood Stella. What she's saying is that because this woman survived to be 90 years of age as a sickle cell carrier, doesn't mean that others should be encouraged to birth sickle cell babies, hoping that they'd also survive like the nana here did. That's what I think she's saying

  28. Woooow happy birthday babe, may God continue to bless and keep you. I walked out of a relationship because of AS issue but it's all good

  29. Happy birthday super woman. I am excited and happy on your behalf ma'am, you are indeed a warrior!!!
Why isn't it okay for SS to make babies, they just need to consult their doctors and have proper follow up to do so and yes this is an encouragement for those living with it to know they are not less of a woman.

  31. I am SS, hubby is AA and i am pregnant at the moment, my pregnancy has been very smooth. Most of u jst saw rubbish without knowledge of the subject matter.SS warriors are humans and can also have babies with adequate medical help.U people make it seem like its a death sentence to be SS,afterall people with AA and AS genotype die everyday.Stop d segregation abeg.i wont encourage any AS OR SS to marry themselves,.

    2. dont mind Stella.

    3. May God see you through and you shall deliver safely and enjoying y the fruit of your labor. There shall be no loss in Jesus name. Amen

    4. But you just said the same thing nah. Why won't you encourage them yo marry themselves since it is such a good thing.

No one is saying being an SS warrior is a sin or a crime but it is a very difficult situation so yes, just because you've seen grandma live to 90 doesn't mean you should go ahead to marry that your AS bf when you know you are AS.

At least think about the child that will endure the pain

  32. Happy birthday grand ma. I bless God for adding a new age to you.

  33. Happy birthday nana you shall live many more fruitful years.

  34. Happy birthday ma, I celebrate you today may God continue to bless and keep you. I am also a sickle cell warrior and God has been faithful. No crisis in the last 7yrs just on folic acid. God's mercy will prevail over all human judgement people say they die young I tell them my life is in His hands. At least so many without sicklecell anemia are no more. Thanking God on behalf of all the sickle warriors and our supportive families and friends. We couldn't have made it this far without God and your unrelentless support and understanding.

  35. A better thing to say is "people who's genotype don't match, i.e produce sickle cell carriers, shouldn't marry". That's quite an insensitive statement to make, ur bv's who are carriers will be most offended. I hope you correct ur statement.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I am really upset with her statement. Stella I love u but sometime u talk total trash. So sicklers shouldn't have babies? That is a very rude thing to say. U should be advising them on how not to marry each other. I don't like it. Hope my ss friends don't see this.

  36. I tap from this blessing for my baby sis.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think what Stella meant to type was carriers should not make babies that is As and As. Not sicklers shouldn't. I am a sickler at first my mind dropped when I saw her statement, as I have been scared all this while of getting knocked up. Seeing this grandma up their has given me hope today. This is all I need. God will continue to keep her.

  38. All those people typing garbage after my comment, thank you for trying to cos discord here....those who helped me explain better thank you....Now let me rephrase...if you are a carrier do not be encouraged by this story to make babies if you are dating another carrier okay?
AS+AS is a NO NO NO!!!

Tapping into your good health on behalf of my kid sis... Sickle cell is no longer a death sentence... For those yet to tie the knot .. do get tested. Cause the pain as a result of crisis is better imagined. so y bring up a child whose question of "Why am I the only one always sick". Mama Lolo I hail and thank God for you.
