Jilted Hubby Demands N200,000 Compensation

An agrieved ex-husband, Echele Idah, Wednesday, demanded N200,000 compensation from his former wife, whom he ‘enjoyed’ for only two weeks.

Idah told a Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, that he got married to his ex-wife, Gloria Uche, in 2013 but they spent only two weeks together, before she left to an unknown destination.

Idah presented evidence of payments for the traditional marriage rites, demanding repayment of N200,000 as compensation for the troubles he went through.

He said: “Apart from other minor expenses, I paid N300, 000 into an ECObank and N70, 000 into a GT Bank account for her father and mother’s traditional rites, respectively, as requested by them.

“Also, N119,000 was paid to The Young Shall Grow Motors, Mararaba, to convey both my family and that of Gloria to Isi Ala Ngwa, Abia State, Gloria’s home town. After many months of her disappearance, she called to tell me that she was now married to another man.

“I reported the matter severally to her parents, but what I got was a threat, that I should find their daughter. Before she divorced me, I made several efforts to locate her whereabouts to no avail. I could only speak with one Mr Matthew through her phone, who claimed to be her husband.

“I demand a compensation of N200, 000 for frustrating my efforts and all the troubles and money I spent in search of her.”
The judge, Albert Maga, adjourned the case for further hearing.

  20. Divorce after only 2 weeks. Nna, them no date? Them no do Traditional Marriage. Well who even knows what happened truly. Maybe it was her plan all along to punish him for what he did or set him up, or she probably found something unbearable during those weeks. Well, let's see how it ends

  24. Let's be objective here, and I'm a lady.
Imagine in this Buhari economy it was ur brother that spent all the money whatever little amount it may be to marry a woman, pay her dowry and she disappears. Is it right?
Ladies if you are not sure about a man, it's better you don't marry him. So you can have peace of mind wherever you decide to go to.
It's unfair you let this man spend all that money. Knowing you love someone else. What if he goes diabolical on you and you can't conceive later.
No matter what guy Iv dated, I end things with them on a neutral bases, where there's no bad blood. Even the one dat jilted me and married another girl. I later forgave him. Bcos I see now that it was better it didn't work, if not I won't have found my own, meant for me.
I saw him at a restaurant once, we greeted. I even introduced him to my fiancée. Life goes on.

  30. From the comments so far, why are people not seeing reasons with this man. Imagine spending all these only for the woman to have the mind to jilt him after only two weeks and also had the guts to tell the him that she has remarried. The lady and her family practically duped the guy, should nemesis start dealing with her now they'll start calling witches and wizards. I'm only angry with the guy for demanding for just 200k. What rubbish!
