Labour Room Drama -100

Na wah ooooh...

Please oo, how can this file be empty. Stella please don't joke like this, you don't know how much help and succour it offers to some.
Lemme share mine. I had my baby last Saturday, I wanted to wait a while before sending it in. My "sumtin" never done oo. A bit lengthy.

39 weeks gone, I was tired of being tired all the time, I already had it in mind I was gonna get to 40weeks. Went for the antenatal that week, on my way back I had craving for egusi soup,( it purges me if done with ugu,i usually cook for uziza) but long throat no let me think. I bought ugu, plenty meat et al, cooked and ate, went to stay with my neighbour in her store. After a while I started having stomach upsets, I went home to relieve myself, yeah, you guessed right, I was purging. Unknown to me, I was in labour, wetin I sabi, primip like me.

i practically slept in the toilet that night, DH travelled so I was alone.

I managed through the night with the mind that I was purging, taking ORT, nothing helped, my waist was already paining me, I thought due to stress from plenty pooping. ‎Next morning I managed to bear it till noon, until I couldn't any longer, went to my neighbour's store (she just had a baby but 3months old) to tell her I was going to the hospital to complain about the pain, immediately I saw her, I burst cry. She already knew, she asked me to carry bag, I said it was just purge, not labour. She got her MIL to follow me to the clinic since there was no one with me at home

I got to the bus stop, momsy called and asked where I was, Ahn Ahn, what do you mean by where am I? She asked again, told her I was going to complain at the hospital about the purge, she said ok. She again knew it was time, I didn't. I got there, they asked if I had seen any sign, I said nothing, but had been pooping all through the night, my due date was close anyway, I was taken inside and checked, 2cm. Was told I had been in labour since last night.

See cold, I wasn't prepared o, mentally. Had to call my bro to go get my bag at my place, was there all through Friday, still 2cm, my mom came over, on Saturday morning the pain was starting to get out of hand, begged the nurse to come check how far along I'd gotten (learnt from LRD), 4cm. Choi, I begged to be induced, otherwise it was going to be a lonnnnnggggg one.

I was injected, na there drama start, who send me, it was a general hospital (them try) so we were many there, presently I was the only one in labour, others had delivered the previous night, no one spending more than 10mins in the delivery room. One lady asked me to scream if the pain got too much, told her I didn't see the sense in screaming and exerting myself, if my cervix is not ripe enough, I'd just be wasting my strength, when contractions hit,ill hold on to some iron bars around and breathe in and out for a few mins till it passes, ‎till mid afternoon and I couldn't stand it again , was taken to the delivery room, all of a sudden the contractions stopped, was asked to push, nothing, just poop, the head nurse was angry with me, but all the while saying this baby must breathe.

I just couldn't push, in my head, I started to recite psalm 23, I even forgot the words, they had to start pushing on my stomach, till I felt one pain that was out of this world, they had to tear me, and bring the baby out, I think I passed out for a minute because when I opened my eyes I saw a full head of hair being pulled out of me and my boy was born.

My mom was out kabashing all through till she heard our voices. She started calling everyone. I was sutured (LRD again) and cleaned up and we were discharged the next day. In the healing process now, my boy can suck for Africa ehn. That's my story, not with the intent to scare oooooo.

*They tore you and pulled out the baby?Wow,sorry dear.Reading your story gave me gansehaut.....That egusi and runny stomach eh,I have it too oooo.

  16. Congrats dear on your new born, we thank God for his mercies. Mom & baby boy are doing fine. It's a boy, so let him latch on the 'bwest'....they can eat??.Very soon 'bwest' milk will not satisfy him, you'll need to add formula (bottle milk) to fill him up so you'll be able to hear word from his crying.
