Labour Room Drama 115

Some stories just takes one's breath away...

have been reading this LRD since and enjoying it. I therefore decided to send my own, hoping others will enjoy it too. Though my LRD was sixteen years ago.

From the day one of the pregnancy mine was vomiting and no appetite.

Immediately I got pregnant I hated food, the sight of food made me sick. I vomited anyhow. At the initial stage they said it will stop after the first three months but for where?, vomiting no stop o. So I was always in and out of the hospital.

The only fruit I could eat without vomiting was pineapple and the only food I ate without throwing up was Ewa agonyin. Anything after these two was wahala.

My boss then encouraged me to register at a general hospital, there was a general hospital around my office so I registered there apart from the private hospital near my home. Another thing was that I didn't allow my husband to touch me o, husband too was scared, he was just trying to make attempt how it is with a pregnant woman..

I cut my hair, I saw it as disturbance. I struggled to wear flat shoes, I couldn't stand small heel at all. I couldn't even wear skirt, only long gown and everything just pissed me off. I still managed to go to office though, cause I needed the money.

Scan gave me second week of December and I was eagerly waiting for the day.

Then in second week of November, a day preceding the delivery I just noticed I was tired and I went home. I told hubby I was tired, but he didn't see it as anything new, cause I was always tired. What surprised me was that, I initiated s.x that night.

Hubby was even surprised and he responded well. I woke up many times going to toilet I thought I was urinating. In the morning I told hubby that I was just urinating throughout the night. He suggested I visit the hospital, which I promised to do the next day being Saturday. I did not want to take another permission in the office.

So the next day, I woke up hungry and I managed to cook rice (surprised), I went to office, I have this senior colleague that I normally confided in. So I informed her about my urinating throughout the night, she said its normal. I went back to my office and felt mild stomach pain and went to the office clinic, the nurse said I should go to the general hospital near us, I told her I was still in hospital on Tuesday of that week and that I had appointment for the following week Tuesday.

I went back to my office. My boss noticed I wasn't looking right and asked me what happened. I told him I was just weak and he suggested I should go to the General hospital, I told him I would be alright but he insisted and said his driver should take me there. I had no choice than to go.

On getting to the General Hospital they checked my card and said i wasn't yet due. They said the driver should go while I should take a rest. That was it, while sitting down no pain, no labour I just went to one of the nurse that I wanted to poo, she asked me poo? I said yes.

They called for a doctor to check me and the doctor said, my baby was almost out! What? Just like that! I was summoned to the labour room no, bag, house was very far, no GSM, couldn't call hubby, office, even mother. Thank God I had some money on me, so I bought a few necessary things.

In the labour room, the matron that took my delivery told me to cooperate that it would pain me, but I should cooperate. I also met another woman in the LR who told me to cooperate that it was because she did not cooperate that made her to bleed. On hearing that, I made up my mind to cooperate. Then I vomited again (the last one before the baby came) followed by the urge to poo again, I begged the matron not to let me poo on the bed but she said I should poo there, but she said is a strong poo so I should use all my strength to poo. That was how I was ready to poo, and first (push)poo my baby just come out.

A fine boy so quiet. I was happy and relieved. Even one woman started crying as soon as I entered the ward with my baby, she said she has been there for three days and me that entered just now put to bed. Hope my story is not too long. Baby is 16 years this month.

*Hmm your pregnancy wasnt easy at all...Well done!

    1. From experiences I have read here, if pregnancy period is troubled, labour would be easy. If pregnancy period was smooth, labour would be painful. It varies sha.

  15. This is stress free, just the way I delivered my first baby with a little twist.
Delivery is not that scary as some people make it to be. Just cooperate with the nurses, and the GOD. His mercy will surely help women to deliver well.
