The Meeting Point -3

Two Hearts that meet/beat as one?Tell us the Meeting point and how it spiralled into love....

 Stellz,
Even though we are yet to meet physically I consider it then meeting point.
Sorry for the long story bvs don't insult me please. Actually wrote this earlier hope its a good read.
God bless you.

They say things when done unplanned happen to work out just fine, well, that was how it all started. No plans, no ulterior motive, just something done on a whim. How did what begin you might ask? Well let me start from the very beginning.

It was on the Wednesday of November 19th 2014 and I had just gotten back from benediction and after having my bath I had hoped for a peaceful and relaxing moment which was quite difficult to achieve because I lived in the school hostel, actually a hall in the school hostel. One of the disadvantages of staying in the school hostel was the burden of grappling with the uncontrollable noise made by students in their different rooms.

While I was savouring the few quiet moments I thought I had, I heard some voices coming from the other end of the hall, snatches of "let me see" was all I could grasp. "Well there goes my rest", I thought standing up wanting to find out what was going on. I got there and realised Ekene; a final year student was the main attraction or rather the reason for the main attraction.
"What is it?” I asked to nobody in particular.
"See my cousin", she said flashing the phone to me. I peered into the screen it was a Face book profile and a display picture. That was the first time I saw him.

"He is fine" I said honestly. I noticed he was quite tall, huge in body structure and fair in complexion talk about a double wow.
"He's fine but it’s your brother I want", Chioma said and we all laughed. Soon everyone dispersed to their corners and I followed Ekene to her corner.

"Let me see the picture again", the first time didn't do much justice. I looked at it and then checked his profile information. He wasn't even in the country...tough luck but oh well you cannot have it all.

Till date I still do not know why I said the next words that came out of my mouth. Maybe it was fate, a fair twist of luck or something that sounded just right, who knows.
"I think I’ll send him a friend request just for laughs"
I took my phone and immediately sent it, knowing he will probably won’t even accept then I headed back to my bed.

*The next day
"Ekene! He accepted my request and sent me a message! What am I supposed to say? I did NOT plan for this!” I said immediately I got to her corner.
I honestly wasn't expecting a response to the request much less a message even if it was an impersonal "Hello"

"Hian! Whatever you want but before you do I want to let you know something", she said bringing me closer.
"What is it?” I asked with thoughts like, he was already married, he was engaged, he was crazy, he was rude bla bla bla flashing through my mind.

"He used to be xxxx boyfriend"

"WHAT?” I knew her, well not like closely but we were in the same hall and I didn't want to have issues with her, what if she still had feelings for him and felt I was trying to snatch him even when I could care less.
"Calm down. They are no more dating", she said trying to sort of pacify me.
"Ha! In that case I’m not interested I do not want any problem", I said losing all interest.
"I didn't say anything was wrong just telling you", she said rolling her eyes at me.
"Okay, I have heard. I’ll see you", and with that I left.

I then replied him, honestly I had no idea what I was doing chatting with a random stranger on Facebook even if he was my roommate’s cousin and ex-boyfriend but what was stranger and what I guess made me continue was the fact that he actually accepted the request and sent a message even if it was a hello...

On November 20th 2014 he sent me that single message "hello" which I would like to say opened the doors to our friendship. We started off chatting, asking questions about ourselves and through that got to know he was 26 years old, worked and schooled in Canada about 6"7 which was tall for a 5"3 like me.
We hit it off good, then one day he asked me: "So be honest with me, how did you get to know me?”

Okay, so let's be real it wasn't surprised or anything I just didn't know how to put the words together plus I didn't want him feeling like it was a hook up masterminded by Ekene and I or even worse masterminded by xxx to get back at him (which he actually thought at one point).

So I simply told him: "I just searched for you on Facebook and decided to add you. But if you don't feel comfortable with it you can delete me no problem"
He paused for a minute then said, "No need, would love to be your friend. Get to know you better"
"Cool.", I replied.
"So do you know any Ekene, she is my cousin and she also goes to your school that was why I added you because I thought you knew her"
"Umm not really, do you know her department, I might know her though", I said as if I didn't already
"No, I don't but we share the same surname"
"Oh okay, I know her she stays in my hall but we don't talk that much", once again I did not want him thinking his cousin set us up.
"So do you know xxx?” he was on a roll
"Yes, she's my hall mate is she your cousin too?" I asked with a tone of sarcasm as if I didn't know the answer already.
"No, she used to be my friend before I traveled"
"Okay. So what happened? Why did you guys break up?” I asked genuinely interested because Ekene did not gist me that part.
"She broke things off, couldn't deal with the distance I guess"
"I'm sorry", I said wondering if he still had feelings for her.
"I have to go out now with my girlfriend",

Go figure! How on earth was I thinking that such a cutie would be single!

November 22nd 2014.
"I think I have the ideal person for you, if you're interested"
Its been two days now since we started chatting.
Of course I was interested, I barely had a boyfriend not that I made any attempts finding one...and not that I'd let him know so I said "sure", feigning lack of interest.
"How do you feel about long distance relationship because he's not in the country?"
"No problem", I spent most time at school and could do without that.
"Okay then I’ll hook you guys up"
Yay! I thought wondering if he was as cute as him.

November 23rd 2014
I couldn't just let the matter die and give him a chance to forget with him being busy and all.
"What’s up? How far the guy?"
"I know, I haven't forgotten"
"Still waiting, what’s his Facebook username?"
"Are you desperate to know him?"
"No, just curious"
"Well...I'm the guy"
Big shocker indeed, I thought rolling my eyes.
"I thought you had a girlfriend? you guys had to go out together remember?", I wasn't falling for that. All these guys in Diaspora were fond of having girlfriends home and abroad.
"No girlfriend, just friends. Between school and work I'm usually too busy for something like that"
"Hmmm so you want to tell me that the women there are not seeing you?" I asked sarcastically. He laughed (did I mention that he had a very nice laughter?)
"I'm usually very busy, I don't have time", he said again trying to convince me.
From then we talked all night, talking to him was so easy, not stressful and the conversation was free flowing plus the fact that he had a good sense of humor helped out a lot.

November 24th 2014
"I'm sorry for stealing your sleep". It was about 5am my time and probably late evening for him, our time difference was crazy but I had a wonderful time chatting.
"No problem, steal away"
"Next I will steal your heart and maybe you will steal my last name", slow down Sherlock Holmes I thought laughing.
From then on with the urgent need to hear my voice we tried Skype with failed attempts but we discovered Viber and spent hours on the phone.

Most times I did stop to think what I was getting into, I mean I was chatting with a guy who was 6,628 miles away who happened to be 6"7, the second born out of seven children, whose favourite colour was strangely orange, favourite Nigerian food yam and egg sauce, hated Egusi soup which I love by the way and likes Fried rice and turkey USA style.

Did I mention he calls me:
"My crazy beautiful and amazing girlfriend"

And when he sings oh my, it’s so funny I can't help but laugh at his up and down voice, not that he cares any way.
He may not admit it but he is a good guy with a good heart and I'm so happy I was able to act on a whim and meet someone as wonderful as him who has taught me more than I can imagine and shows off his Maths and IT skills whenever he can while I use my calculator...no time.

Fast forward to today November would make it two years since my friend request and his hello.
Did we disagree on things? Yes.

Did we break up? A LOT!

Did I try to forget him? Much more than I could recall.
Did we video chat? Yes, it was amazing seeing the person I had been chatting with and talking on phone orderly much surreal.

Did I fall in love? I did. He did too (smiles).

Did it seem hard to explain to people how I had a boyfriend who I was in love with but had never physically seen? Yes, this was a very difficult one to explain. Most times I just don't tell people because it didn't seem to matter.

We've grown to be quite close and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.

Woooooow beautiful story.....two years is a long time...why doesn't he visit you?or you go over for a visit?before you turn to Ambassador of long distance relationship.
I hate eguso soup too--lol

I didn't budge, in fact I insulted hin life eh cos he can so disturb.. Embarrassment nko. Outta the blues one day a guy called me and started acting as if we are long lost friends.I told him "abeg, I no no you.. But I really like him. He refused to tell me how he got my contact but he gave me hints. I added 2+2 together only for me to find out that the guy I refused to date gave him my contact. Long story short.. We got engaged in few months.. Wedding is close. The guy I refused to date got married last weekend. I dey call am Uncle. Lol!
Moral of my story. Always turn guys down politely. You never know what can happen tomorrow. My fiance makes me really happy.

  14. When I was in school i had this group of friends I always go visit at their Lodge far away from mine. I was 19.
One weekend I went to visit and we all decided to go swimming. Both guys and girls. When we got there i saw a  guy who sat at a corner i pretended i didn't see him but i did he's the cousin to one of the guys that came with us. They called him to meet them up there. We started swimming I didn't know how so I stayed at
at the shallow part. Much later Mr tall dark and handsome (the cousin) came to join us and offered to teach me how. That was the day chemistry 101 started. I felt every touch. At a point During the lesson I backed him and when I turned he held me and told me don't be scared Im here I won't let you drown. Just trust me.
Few months later on my 20th birthday we became official. We've laughed together , we've experienced, we've separated can still remember our longest break a year plus the drama was something else cos we dated other people. He met me once at Silverbird that period with a toaster my Darling couldnt pretend anymore he had to tell our mutual friends to arrange for us to see and when we did first thing he said was Im sorry. Please tell me you didn't sleep with him lol but somehow we still find our way back to each other. He's my friend and prank mate. No one understands me like he does, he knows when I'm faking a smile and when I'm truly happy. A girl never forgets her first who showed her what's like to love. I was genuine in loving him I never held back anything it was real that was why we kept coming back. He knew. Since 2010,the love friendship, the fight, the breaks, the passion in all the highs and lows come February next year it will be a different level for us.
He never stops courting me that's one thing about him I just can't get enough of. He still sees me as that little girl who doesn't know how to swim who needs his protection lol. I'm a grown woman now I always say. Lol. Love eh.

When we got to his house, he asked me to take my bath, come to d dinning to eat. Before we go about The night business. At first I was afraid. Was thing he was a ritualist, looking for someone to sacrifice. Lol. I had second thoughts. But as d bad gal dat I is nau, I took the risk. Took my bath, joimed him in d dinning table and ate till I could eat no more. I asked him who cooked the food, he answered 'me'. Hmmmn. Well we went inside. He made love to me like I was his wife. He was very gentle. Never treated me like a prostitute. After the 3rd round he slept off. Leaving me to my thoughts. I felt he was just being nice. Dat he will soon come to his senses and fuck me silly. Lol. I finally slept off but decided to return his kind gesture. I woke before him, cleaned the whole house, quietly took my bath. I was about to carry my hand bag wen he woke up. He greeted me, gave me 20k and offered to drop me off. I refused. He insisted. As we were driving, told him little things about myself. He just nodded and continued driving. He only asked if I can stop prostitution if I get the help I needed. I nodded. He Dropped me off at the hostel and left. I just fell for d gentle man. After 2weeks, he came looking for me. When I saw him, I ran to embrace him. He just smiled. And here we are, 5yrs and still counting.

  35. My darling husband and I met during our university days. He was my opposite door neighbour. Though we both were seeing other people but God who orchestrated our union from the very beginning made our paths cross again, almost three years later and we were equally single. We decided to give the relationship a trial and after three years of building our love, trust, loyalty etc. We sealed it with the Hosts of Heaven as witnesses this year. He is my true definition of LOVE and RESPECT.

  37. I ddnt get to marry the only person I have ever loved in my life. We met when we were freshers in the university, just a week into getting into school during our freshers registration and he was on my case till 400 level. He was always in my room every night, he could just sit down at a corner and be staring into my eyes. I was not sure if I wanted to date him then, I told him i was not ready for any relationship but he kept coming, I saw him virtually everyday, he would come with his friends and they would intercede on his behalf, but I remained adamant, we got closer day by day and became friends. Everyone knew us together. I met his mum first semester 300 level, they had a function and I was invited, he took me straight to his mum on my arrival. I was still skeptical about us then and I was so scared when he took me to his mum. I finally made up my mind when we got to 400 level and I decided to date him, he was everything, we did everything together and even shared money and everything we had together. We became so inseparable my people loved him so much. Its so sad that I ddnt get to marry him at the end of the day, the fault came from me though. I regret it everyday of my life. I love him till date. I am a single mum now and life has not being easy but I am pulling through, its not been easy for me relationship wise. He is married, he got married early last year and we still talk. Am in tears as I type this.

      What happened along the line?

      U cheated?

      Is the baby his own?

Don't live your life in regret..

Funny thing is.. somehow the present is usually better than the past.
This means that you will meet someone even better.. say Amen!
