Doctors In House Section

Wey them?

'SUBMUCUOUS LEIOMYOMA'

Good day Stellastical!!!!,

Maami I need doctors-in-house to advice me or anyone who might have gone through this before, On Monday 12/12/16 I started bleeding, I call it bleeding because my period is not supposed to come until one week from that Monday and then that Monday alone I used about 6 pads, from Tuesday I had to start doubling up the pads as I can't go for two hours with one pad without being stained, from that Monday till today I have used about 16 pads and the flow had black clots as well as being heavy.

On Wednesday I went to the hospital and I was requested to do a pelvic scan whose result said I had 'SUBMUCUOUS LEIOMYOMA' and the doctor said it is a Fibroid and going by the report given with the diagnosis I was told the fibroid is in the uterus and I have to undergo surgery asap (Myomectomy).

Now my question is.. Has anyone on the blog had this before? What process do u take instead of surgery? Can anyone recommend any good hospital in Lagos environs for me who are very good with it?? Hope it doesn't affect conception?? Does anyone have an idea of what it could cost?

Am so scared Stella... Please help me out.

    3. @see no evil, you are sooo on point.
And that was how one came last week with similar complaints. Pelvic scan revealed a sub mucous, fibroid, a large one at that(about 24 weeks size) (and it's already symptomatic), myomectomy was advised and she refused. She went to a prayer centre or so only to be rushed in this morning. BID.

So poster, read about the problem, and then go to a govern hospital for the surgery. You will be fine, okay?? E. Hugs

  3. There are good hospitals in Lagos.

The cost is different. My friend did hers in Yaba but the cost is much ooo. N750,000.00.

My hair dresser did hers in Ajegunle last year, the cost was around N350,000.00. I might ask her where the place is.

If you must do your operation, try and get a husband first oo so that once the operation, na pikin be the next bus stop.

Dont worry you will be fine and you will be great. Sorry ooo. This is what most women are passing through. May God help everyone out there.

    2. Heard pineapple can cause miscarriage, so be careful next time. I for one think Ur doc is quack, pls seek a 2nd opinion.
Seem the pains means contractions,ur doc is supposed to give u an injection to stop the pains and then bed rest.
      Thank u

    3. Yes, pineapple contains a substance that causes uterine contractions and yes miscarriage. Google it, pray my dear and if this is a miscarriage, just let it be, grieve a little and hold on to God, the one that will stay would come.

  7. Sweetheart you will be fine. Fibroids can be very annoying. Am telling you from experience. But I beg you in the name of God, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on so-called fibroids Shrinker's. It shrinks nothing. For most part of my marriage I was drinking herbs, rather than reducing, it was growing faster. I became weak and anaemic. One day Stella posted a plea for help for a lady who did surgery. Her name is Wumni (you can search for her on sdk past post). I called her and she gave me the contact of the gynaecologist. The doctor is the best he put my mind at rest. So i summoned courage and did the surgery. 18 fibroids were removed and am as free as air. The surgery was bloodless. Fibroids reduces the chance of conception. I just started the TTC journey this month, Because I wanted to heal well. Am six months post surgery.
    You will be fine dear.

  13. i recently had surgery to remove the "droids. it was submicosal and intra mural. the scan show 3, but the doc removed 10. i had heavy bleeding, and started using diapers thats when i knew water don pass garri. i spent 260kfor the actual surgery, almost 50k for blood banking, tests etc. the major issue here is who is the DOCTOR going to perform the surgery and not the hospital.. it might be a govt hospital, but an inexperienced doctor. and most importantly start building your blood count. a lot of women die from blood loss and also does ur blood clot? i joined alot of uterine fibroid forums to gain more insights. goodluck and f**** those fibroids. much !Love. PS am not in lagos can give any suggestions.

  18. Poster, it is well to begin with. Fibroid is not a death sentence so pls and pls don't be afraid.

If the size of the fibroid is large, surgery is your option and I think yours from your explanation is in your uterus so if you are pregnant, may be battling for space with your baby so please and please,go for the operation.

There are doctors who are very experienced in this and not so expensive too in lagos.

Please read as someone suggested earlier and be well informed and be able to ask your doctor vital questions. I am concerned about SCAR Tissue which may arise after the surgery but it is not so in all cases. Please act fast and may God heal you speedily.

  21. If its a submucous fibdroid please dont do open surgery for it. I will recommend Nordica Fertility Centre lagos. They do Endoscopy surgeries which is safe. Surgical hysteroscopy is what you need. My sister did her own with them. Open surgery can leave a scar in your uterus that may prevent you from getting pregnant. You can Google for the address. Thanks

  22. My dear u ll be fine since d diagnosis has bn made..surgery wch Eva type is a necessity in ur case since its very symptomatic obviously due to d location. Using drugs alone ll relief symptoms but not d cure. D pathology itself can gv u series of spontaneous n might cost ur uterus wen d fibroid grows too big, d surgery if well done wt God on ur side ll help u hv ur babies. Ll recommend a teaching Hosp close 2 u
