RE -Collapsed Church Building In Uyo

This is from a Blog Visitor who lost her Best friend in Yesterday's tragedy.....
She is looking for closure and asking questions.

Dear Stella,

I am mourning not because this is my first time of loosing someone close but because I see this whole thing as a setup.

Bishop Akan Weeks of reigners church still went on with his ordination at abak. (Attached is a picture)

As at when I left University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, over 100 persons were confirmed dead. Students inclusive. Not to talk of the number of persons at St. Luke hospital, Anua.
In total, it won't be wrong to say that over 200 people died due to incompetence/ neglect from the part of the engineers.

How is it possible for such a mighty structure to stand with no pillars to support the building?. The crane used simply gave way due to lack of support and secondly, there is a huge ravine at the back of the church which makes the soil texture very soft and it cracks often.

Stella the church is not a small church o. Church that contains more than a thousand seat. It was suppose to be an underground worship center.

My friend's mom has not been informed. She was one of the ushers at the event.I have been busy checking on friends and colleagues.

The city of Uyo mourns. #PrayforUyo

    1. Even me too. I don't want to believe he went ahead with it. But if he did, he needs to be burnt or buried alive. I'm sure he'll come up with the BS excuse of going ahead with it because he didn't want the devil to feel he has won.
Heaven will really be full of surprises.

  7. God forgive me but I don't understand all these tragedies in churches.

Is it that the pastors cannot see tragedies close to them or what?

And they still went on with the service?
    It's well o.

    1. Going ahead with ordination is so so wrong. People died, some are still dying and some may never remain the same again but the tittle bishop is all he cares about, its sad. Now he have the tittle but he should know this people will always remember as the bishop that many souls were killed at his ordination and some priest still ordained him without fear or feelings for those in the mortuary and emergency unit and hospitals still looking for blood donors.

    2. My dear it is not an ordination... Actually it is. It is an ordination into the kingdom of darkness and the souls lost was the sacrifice.

But is the building new? I mean is a new church? Has the structure not been there? There's more to it than meets the eye. What a colossal loss. And bishop wasn't buried in d debris.

    1. I do not doubt the fact that some church owners are ritualists but this is a case of human errors. The building was rushed. Those roof and other metals were installed about three days to the ordination. That morning work was still ongoing. The pressure ofrom the large audience and the sound system that was blaring that morning shook the entire place to the ground. There was not enough pillars for the structure. Will send Stella images of the building few days before the tragedy.
By the way, the picture above is a picture taken during the Saturday morning service in uyo. I have the video.
There are rumors that the bishopic installation continued after the tragedy. Will send stella the full gist.
This reminds me of what we read on ODM devotional on Saturday morning: the topic was: it was human error... And we were asked to pray that the mistake of others do not affect our destiny.
May the souls of the departed RIP.

  26. This is pure proof that the said pastor isn't a man of God. The Bible said no evil shall befall us. Come to think of it, millons attended Shiloh, went back home without recording and death. Redeemed Christian Church of God did their Camp/ convention, no soul was lost. The pastor thinks he can answer bishop. Does he carry the anointing Paapa Bishop David Oyedepo carrys????????? My dear accept my sincere condolence over the death of your friend. But this is a pure disgrace. Look at how many souls lost. God disgraced him on the day who taught he would be celebrated. People, not all miracle is Miracle o. Take heart.

  30. And One of the governor’s aides, Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr Ukpong, who moderated the event at the church service, thanked God for saving his life".

Imaging how stupid and mentally retarded a sane grown up man can reason and talk?
If it was God that saved your life, who collapsed the Church in the first place?

For whom did all the whorshipers gathered in the collapsed Building and why did God allow others to die while he speared sb like, Aniekeme finbarr Ukpong?
Or are the survivors trying to tell the world that it was God that collapsed the Building?
After making a wide rang researches and interrogation, I arrived to the conclusion the most Nigerians are not just naturally stupid but have for long being retarded by these two Arabians religions called Christianity and Islam.

As the event went on, the wind was too much for the tent to carry, that's how it started moving, the poles inside started pulling off. Thank God there was no casualty. The tent was slanted. I ran for my life ehn! As I ran, I held on to my cap and tag. Lol.

  51. UYO COLLAPSED CHURCH: THE ENTHRONEMENT DIDN'T HOLD AS SPECULATED

Saturday, December 10, 2016 may have left a hurting scar on our psyches as State, Christian community and in particular, for members of the Reigners Bible Church, Uyo.
On the said day, while the church, family, associates and well wishers were gathered at the sprawling auditorium of the church, for the Bishopric enthronement of their Prelate, Apostle Dr Akan weeks, the structure caved in and unfortunately, left a trail of casualties.
Folks', I have a few observations to make.
First, let me commend all those who made haste, to ensure, rescue efforts commenced with urgency, beginning with His Excellency, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, who used his good office to mobilize and coordinate the emergency rescue operations; which helped save a lot of lives and reduce the casualty figures considerably.
I also acknowledge with commendatory honour, all the people, security agencies, organizations, and medical personnel, who made tremendous input and sacrifice as volunteers to ensure the disaster response operations were swift, professional, and efficient. That community spirit, again, reinforced our common humanity and the obligation to be our
Brothers keeper as a clarion call, to bear one another's burden.
A very special thanks to those who donated blood, material and cash, to further facilitate several levels of the operation and first aid modalities in a quest to save lives. It is a given that, God Almighty will reward all your exertions.
However, THERE IS THIS CRITICAL ANGLE THAT WE HAVE TO ADDRESS AND LAY TO REST. THESE ARE THOSE WHO ARE STOKING THE FIRE OF BLAME, DENUNCIATION, REPROACH AND FAULT FINDING, WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE ALL THE FACTS.
First, rumours are spreading that, the slated Enthronement still went ahead at an unnamed location, inspite of the mishap at the venue. THIS LINE IS UNFOUNDED, FALSE, MISLEADING AND VERY UNKIND TO THE LEADERSHIP OF REIGNERS BIBLE CHURCH AND DR AKAN WEEKS.
As we speak, DR WEEKS, WHO HAS ALSO LOST RELATIVES IN THE MISFORTUNE, IS UNDER ORTHOPEDIC TREATMENT AND PHYSIO-THERAPY, AND AT NO TIME/VENUE, DID THE PURPORTED ENTHRONEMENT CONTINUE. BE ALERT THAT, THOSE WHO NEVER WISHED AKAN WEEKS WELL, WILL POUNCE ON THIS CRISES IN ATTEMPT TO DESTROY HIM. GOD FORBID!
Whoever originated this false alarm is not helping the healing process and solemnity the occasion demands, and those propagating it, without getting the facts right, are 'innocently', being manipulated to stir strife. We should please, in deference to the dead, and solidarity with the Body of christ, halt this wicked rumour.
My investigation of this matter further reveals that, the Reigners Bible Church has set up about 15 prayer units with leaders, to visit, about 15 different hospitals where the wounded are admitted and recuperating, to pray with, and counsel victims and their relatives. They are not resting on their oars, neither are their spirits dampened or defeated by this debacle. The best we can do is, intercede for/with them, and help in bridging any lapses, this denomination may be undergoing in this their troubled times.
The Church(Reigners), is also sending relief materials and medicine to victims, complementing the Udom Emmanuel led State Government which has graciously bankrolled the treatment of all concerned. We do well, if we support these efforts with words of healing and encouragement, not statements or comments that incite wrath and opprobium.
AS USUAL, ALL MANNER OF TALES, HEARSAYS AND INFORMAL GOSSIPS, ATTEMPTING TO EXPLAIN THE WHY'S, WHAT'S AND HOW'S OF THIS CATASTROPHE ARE FLOATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND NON FORMAL CIRCLES. Some have even gone as far as name-calling, making weighty speculations and ancecdotes on the matter.
The less gracious have viciously attacked the integrity of chief Celebrator, Dr Akan Weeks, and mocked the Church for this severe blow.
