Rihanna Denies Feud With Beyoncé Over Grammy Nominations

Rihanna did not shade Queen Beyoncé.

The “Work” singer wants everyone to “drop this topic.” She dismisses the suggestion of her having a beef with Jay Z’s wife, adding, “We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”

Rihanna accidentally fueled longstanding rumors of a feud between the women on Instagram yesterday after Grammy nominations were announced. It all started when RiRi “liked” a photo on a fan account that read, “Congrats and all to @badgalriri and all for her 8 Grammy nods but tbh f–k them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year… I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* [lemon emoji]… f–k you Grammys.”

With her nine nominations for Lemonade, Beyoncé is the most-nominated female artist in Grammy history. Bey is also the artist with the most nominations this year; Rihanna, Drake, and Kanye West tied for second place with eight nominations each.

Well, Rihanna is speaking out about that double tap. Apparently she was just “liking” the photo of herself and didn’t read the caption. After realizing what was written below the pic, Rihanna posted the following in the comment section.

Rihanna and Beyoncé have constantly been plagued by rivalry rumors over the years.

“Here’s the deal,” Rihanna told Vogue in March. “[People] just get so excited to feast on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”

Beyoncé also touched on the topic back in 2011.

“There is room on this earth for many queens,” she told Complex. “I have an authentic, God-given talent, drive, and longevity that will always separate me from everyone else. I’ve been fortunate to accomplish things that the younger generation of queens dream of accomplishing. I have no desire for anyone else’s throne. I am very comfortable in the throne I’ve been building for the past 15 years.”

A Rihanna and Beyoncé collaboration could squash the rumors once and for all. Just saying!

  1. Collaboration ke? Na that time the rivalry go increase because beyhive will put down Rihanna just to bring up Beyonce. I don't know but Beyonce seems too competitive and her fans are not helping matters. Personally I prefer Rhianna.

    2. Thank you!! I prefer Rihanna any day,I won't take it away from Bey though, she's quite good, but tbh,her glory days are behind her and she's living in past glory. Her hive take pleasure in trolling anyone (especially another artiste) that dares say anything about their 'Queen'. They can't take constructive criticism where Bey is concerned.Bey herself hasn't helped matters with her competitive spirit.Any female artiste that rears up her head is an official threat to her.
