ILE-IFE AGOG AS ADEDOYIN WEARS MISS OODUA CROWN

The ancient city of Ile Ife was lighted up Wednesday as the Olokun Festival Foundation, OFF, staged the 2017 Oodua Beauty Pageant at the Nicon Hotel amidst pump and pageantry.







The Olokun Festival Foundation, OFF, an offshoot of the OPC, saddled with the responsibility of promoting the culture, tradition of, and moral values among the Yoruba race.


The Oodua Beauty Pageant is a package of the OFF to showcase talents and beauty among the Yoruba race.


At the colourful event which showcased no less than eleven participants, Onamade Adedoyin, 21, of the Polytechnic, Ile-Ife, emerged winner, with the star price attached to the category.


Akanbi Racheal, 22, a graduate of the Open University, clinched the second position and won a cash prize of a hundred thousand naira (N100,000), for the first runner up, while Akindele Olayinka, 18. A student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho bagged the third prize of seventy five thousand naira. (N75,000).


Otunba Gani Adams, Chief Promoter of OFF and the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, was at the venue of the contest, accosted by several top members of the Nigerian media and entertainment industries as well as a retinue of top executive members of OPC who trooped in from many states of the federation with their Oodua Progressives Union, OPU, counterparts from several continents of the world.


Adams while congratulating the winners urged them to be good ambassadors of Yoruba nation and to always promote and protect the rich ethical values associated with the race.


He encouraged other participants not to lose faith rather move ahead to improve on their lapses to be winners in other pageants that still line up for the year.

  4. Looks like they gave the price to who they wanted and not who won. Is it a coincidence that the winner is Adedoyin, a student of the polytechnic of Ife owned by Rahmon Adedoyin, her father? Same Rahmon Adedoyin that was hoping to become the king as oppose the current King. **sniff**sniff**
