Labour Room Drama 154

Ewoooo!!!

Hello blog family, I was few weeks close to my edd when LRD series started. It kept me informed and eased my anxiety.

Now to my story, was preparing to go for NYSC 3weeks orientation camp when I realized I was already weeks gone. Dh said he would not let me go due to my condition, but for were I did not agree to staying back because I had been looking forward to my service for over a year. After so much begging he accepted but Nysc sef didn't help the situation because camp date kept changing date.

My pregnancy was so stress free no spitting, no cravings et al, so much that no one knew I was pregnant in kwara camp only my bunkie who was also my camp bestie (she didn't believe me till she saw me months later lol). I participated in all the actives including (military and social. Relocated to Lagos which was another wahala but fun.)

Not until 7th month my stomach looked flat that my husband has to always check me out when I am naked and always asking questions if everything was ok with the baby.

Instead of me to add weight I was losing weight but scan showed that baby was growing perfectly fine (I ate well so it was not about the food).

By 30th week, I still looked small that I had to always complain at the antenatal classes.

Fast forward to delivery day, I started feeling mild contractions from 1:13am. I have read so much due to my anxiety so I knew just what was wrong
Contraction pain intensified with each passing hour but because I had filled my head with so much stories from other people's experience, I promised to stay at home and labour. I cooked, eat and watched telemundo; all the while I could not sit down, the sitting became some sort of a track field for me.

5:30pm when I realized I could not handle the pain no more I talked to Dh to come take me to the hospital. He looked at me and laughed that I don't look like someone that wanted to give birth "where is the water and why are you not acting like they do in Nigerian movies".

I just hissed ,carried my bag, as I was about stepping out the contraction hit me hard that I held tightly on to the door knob. Dh became scared and hurriedly drove me to the hospital, we got there past 6pm and I was taken to the labour room where the nurse told me to remove my clothing and get into something light
1 hour later the contractions was at its peak but when the doctor checked me I was 4cm. I screamed and immediately started vomiting, tears came freely and my super strength failed me.

Inside the labour room was 3 of us Shouting, obviously as the first timer that I is my voice was the loudest, I begged the nurse to let me see my husband since he was not allowed inside. As I saw him coming I started shouting that I was not doing this no more. This will be my first and last, lol my confused husband looked like he will break down and cry , he wanted to touch me but no way will I take that I pushed him away and told him to get out.

The nurses and were just making fun of me and saying "sorry naso e dey be but we know in 9months you we be back here again".

I could not stay still, my fellow noise makers had been moved out to the delivery room to birth their babies while I was still being told to continue praying and save my strength. The breath therapy worked for me at a point but it was not enough.

After 4hours of shouting and banging anything in sight, vomiting , singing and praying, going to the bathroom to shower maybe it would ease the pain I had to beg for whoever to come check me, bless God I was 8cm dilated so was moved to the delivery room where I was induced to hasten up labour
10:29 after two strong pushes my baby popped out in grand style looking 120% like her daddy. I just laughed and blessed God.

The relief was instant, all pains vanished.

Now to a bigger drama, one of the women who went to the delivery room hours before I did was still in labour. Immediately I birthed my princess she started shouting that she can't wait no more and pushed by her self. And ended up with a seriously torn cervic.

I was about to be stitched up when this happened so everyone had to move attention to her and I was left with my legs on the stirrup for 3 hours while the woman was been sown by 4 different doctors. Her stitch wouldn't just stay together because the damage was serious. I was scared for her life and prayed so much for her.

All this while my husband and family were so worried as why I was not out of the delivery room.
Finally I was stitched at almost 3pm and allowed to see my baby .

I thank God for a supernatural childbirth ( I read the book daily so I will recommend it for all ttc and gtc). My princess is worth it all.
She will be 2 month in few days ...

*What is GTC?
When you said badly torn cervix that the threads couldnt hold together,i just pictured minced meat in my head.-

So,please let me ask those who went thru push labour.....how far dilated must one be to be allowed to push?from 9? or must it be 12?

    Nice...

GTC means Going To Conceive. It's an acronym for those who are TTC but have faith that they will carry their babies.
So they just change 'Trying' to 'Going'.
