    1. Did you go through the list at all? If you did you will see that items for the father alone cost more that a million. That means he ended up not paying that much if he spent only 950k. The fact he is even ranting about it means he must have held it over her head that she is his property. Why did he feel it was necessary to mention her age? Men the poverty mentality that this man has eh... in fact the woman may have been lucky to escape

      Delete
    2. @mllp, if he bought everything on that list and paid over a million for bride price alone, then she's definitely his property!! He bought the woman!

  7. Look at how much he spent ? and that's small compared to bigger Igbo weddings . I know my Yoruba brothers don't understand what he's talking about because the wedding responsibility falls to the brides family (as I'm told) and the dowry is chicken change.

    Important Notice!!!!

This came to my notice and you need to be aware and share with families, friends and your network.

"Experience With An Unarmed Robber In A Banking Hall"

I have this neighbour who sells foodstuffs. She travelled for new year so she instructed her relation who sells for her to pay in the money(about 130k) she made since monday into her Diamond bank account...

I was in the banking hall- Diamond Bank warehouse branch, Apapa- when she walked in with the money in her bag. When filling her teller, someone asked her if she was paying in and she said yes. She later joined the long queue.

After thirty seconds, a young man dressed in corporate suit (pretending to be a cashier) came close to her and asked for people who are paying above 100k. About five people stepped out and followed him a few meters away.

He collected their money and teller and asked them to wait on the line so he can go in and stamp their teller.....

Like play like play, the man left. They were waiting not knowing that he had left the banking hall with their over 650,000 naira.

It was later that they reported, the bank manager even came down.......he checked the cctv footage and behold, the gentle man in suit was neither a cashier nor a worker in the bank.

Just like that, he stole over 650k. The security guard said it was the third time it was happening in that branch...my fellow Nigerians, BEWARE!!!

Pls we should share this story so as to avoid others falling victims.

    Thanks.

  44. Let d new husband refund d money,or part of it.under normal circumstances,d family should refund for peace to reign.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Awwwww! Poor dude! He is still in a lot of pain, he's just fronting with the amount wasted. Naturally, he feels horrible that all that money went down the drain but the real pain is emotional and psychological. His heart is broken and his ego crushed ergo this rant. For him to have married a 47 year old woman in spite of this ridiculous list, shows he has solid feelings for her.‎

Do you really expect him to cry over a 47 year old woman who cost him an arm and a leg to marry only for her to "dump" him? Of course not, the "manly" thing to do is to rant about the money he spent, to mask the cry of a lost love. I'm very sure some of his friends and family members tried to dissuade him from marrying a woman in her late 40s but he ignored them, obviously. How does he now cry to the same people that he's missing his "gal", without being bashed by those who objected initially? The best route is to act like he cares less about the runaway bride and more about the money he spent. Let's look at this analytically, guys. How many men would not be put off if presented a list like this, even if it were for a 21 year old bride? Then imagine the "audacity" of the family of a 47 year old woman, presenting this as the requirements for marrying their daughter? It shows they know their daughter's worth and don't mind waiting for a man willing to do all it takes to marry her. It's also possible that she knew he could afford it so she asked her family to "pimp" the list.‎

I remember reading a post about this man about to marry another lady and I was like "I hope this isn't a rebound marriage?" The traumatic experience is way too fresh for the average man to want a rematch with another lady, even if that lady has always been in his life. Didn't this happen in October 2016? When did he have time to grieve and come to terms with what happened before wanting to marry another lady and feel the need to announce in on S.M? This is what happens when you try to take a shortcut in the grief process because you want to seem tough. You end up behaving irrationally and being the butt of jokes with catchy punchlines.

Like the sour grapes analogy, he's emphasising her age in a derogatory way because she abandoned him instead of the other way round and he can't get her back. Didn't he know how old she was before he dared the odds to marry her? I really feel bad for him because I know he is really hurting but there is nothing fraudulent about the whole episode. The list will be considered outrageous by most people but no one held a gun to his head. A lot of men have ended marriage preps because of such superfluous request for ladies way younger and prettier but "homeboy" decided to go ahead in spite of the list. Obviously, she didn't lie about her age, she didn't misrepresent herself in anyway. He didn't work for Rachel and was given Leah, he got the woman he "paid" for. Whatever made her abandon the marriage is still a mystery. I believe what the family owes him is a refund of the bride price, not the money spent on purchasing the stuff on the list including the money paid to both parents and other people listed but the actual bride price. I hope he finds peace eventually.
