    4. Anon 19:45....Adeboye ll still keep preaching. he'll probably do that till God calls him. The amount of work,he's doing, travelling around,is that the amount of work, the babalola's and akindayomi's did? It's bigger now. Get real. Only an unwise leader doesn't train a succesor.

    6. He is still the general overseer. The new man is just the overseer according to the latest reports.

Adeboye will still carry on as usual, just that he'll now delegate authority with this man. No one ever retires from serving God until death.

      OK bye

    7. He is still the GO..... the person is just overseer of Nigeria. It's the stupid law our lawmakers made that prompted this. They made it compulsory that all GO's above 75 be made to retire of resign.

  10. RCCG GENERAL OVERSEER -NIGERIA: Please let it be known that Pastor E A Adeboye has not stepped down as the General Overseer of RCCG GLOBALLY . He has only appointed Pastor Obayemi as the General Overseer in charge of RCCG in Nigeria alone. This is in obedience to a new law in Nigeria that says you can not be General Overseer of any religious organization or NGO once you are 70 years and above or you have led that organization for 20 years and above. So, Pastor Obayemi is now the General Overseer for RCCG IN NIGERIA ALONE. Daddy GO remains the head of RCCG GLOBALLY PLEASE. This is the position so, let all agitation and anxiety stop please . GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

    5. You are not very correct. Go and read the statement released by the church herself. Adeboye is now the spiritual head and chief Missioner Of the church. There is nothing like GO worldwide in the constitution of the church. You cannot create a non existent position for him. that he has retired simply means he has retired. Try to understand the difference.

PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE REMAINS GENERAL OVERSEER OF RCCG, WORLDWIDE..

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye remains the General Overseer, Worldwide of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.

A statement signed by Leke Adeboye, the clergyman's last son and Personal Assistant said the clarification is coming on the heels of misrepresentation of Pastor E. A Adeboye's announcement at the Annual Ministers Thanksgiving held at the redemption camp today that the Church Nigeria is now to be led by Pastor Joseph Obayemi.

The statement clarified that the latest development is sequel to the new legal requirements set up by the Financial Regulations Council, guiding all registered churches, mosques, and CSOs.

The regulation stipulates that heads of non profit organisations like churches now have a maximum period of twenty years to lead their organizations while in retirement, they are not permitted to hand over to their families.

Leke Adeboye reiterated that Pastor Funsho Odesola, will now serve as the new Church Secretary while Pastor Joseph Adeyokunu, is the new Church Treasurer.‎

He advised all members of RCCG to understand this new structure and go about their service to God and humanity in holiness and soul winning.

He also appealed to members to educate people around them and not spread inaccurate information stressing that Pastor E.A Adeboye remains the General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide.

An omniscient and omnipotent God shouldn't be involved in ethnic and religious jingoism.

Churches and mosques don't make profits but they extort members. What an ignominy.

  28. If this new law is true i will say well done to the law makers. The era of running church like a personal business is over....if we believers will not discipline ourselves then the Lord will allow 'unbelievers' do the job. If anyone isnt comfortable with the new rules then go register as a taxable orgarnisation.....the era of hanky panky in the church is gone. Its the dawn of accountability for the body of Christ......

    1. If only you know the grand plan behind this? Its a bigger thing. These laws are actually made to weaken the church.
See...instead of us to ask why this is happening. A lot of us are happy that the government is coming down on churches to regulate them. Really...? Look very well.

      Delete
    2. Exactly! How old is our President? What do they know about the structure of the church that they should meddle in its affairs? If only we know where this is heading the. We will cry out against this. Its an evil. The big picture is not to check the excesses but to weaken the church.

  29. Just thinking out loud... Who made these laws? How old is our president again?? And them senators?? Why aren't they retired?? It is well

  31. By the grace of God I was at the ministers Thanksgiving. What polo idea to said is correct. Now the govt want to weaken religious organization especially the Christians. This calls for somber reflections. Check turkey that used to be a Christian nation have been reduced to a place where Jesus is almost not known brethren it started with things like this. The govt took over the church in Rome and introduced there laws and whatever ,that is why the church was later called the Roman Catholic. Its a pity that people like freeze who don't know anything about the church sit behind his computer and write trash and the gullible ones supports and agree with him.Brethren this is the time to preach the word of God.This period calls for wisdom, this period calls for God's direction selah
