The Meeting Point 54

Chei this story feels like reading Mills and Boons or watching an indian movie...

My story goes thus:

I come from a family of seven (my parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers). I am the first.

In January, 2010 my dad announced to us that he had completed the family house and we would be moving in by the first week in February. This excited all of us and we (my siblings and I) decided to throw a house party for my sister (the last girl/third in the family) whose birthday was on the last day in the month of January.

Then I was in my final year at the University and did I have the most boring life in the world... Yes I did! There was nothing really interesting happening in my “real” life; Miss goody two shoes but with crazy fantasies!

I had no boyfriend (didn’t have any throughout my school days as I just wasn’t interested and didn’t see any sense in it. Not a saint though!) and no be say I be one serious book worm o or that I didn’t meet guys that were interested in me or I was attracted to but I just kept saying NO. The only things I loved doing then were listening to music and dancing or watching RomComs but really music was it for me.

Fast forward to the day of the party the house was a beehive of activities and we sent off our parents to church promising to be of good behaviour. Lol!

The music was arranged by my immediate younger sister’s boyfriend who was running late. I was so upset as I could have made other contacts but he finally arrived with the DJ and a friend. We exchanged pleasantries and he kissed my sister, his girlfriend on the lips. I teased them, smiled at his friends thinking “cute young men”. When my eyes met with those of the friend that tagged along, I felt very uneasy and struggled to put up a confident face.

I walked away, praying he didn’t notice that one silly act. Lol! I guess it was his cute nerdish look and beautiful eyes hidden behind his glasses as I dey always dey attracted to boys like that wey know whatsup. After that episode I went back to the garden not giving another thought to what had happened to continue my motherly activities. At this time too the party had gone into full swing with people flirting, talking/socializing, loud laughter and music, dancing, eating blah blah blah.

While I was at it, I felt someone walk up behind me saying why not enjoy the party, dear. I turned to see who it was and tah dah…. It was the nerd. I became uneasy again, my heart thumping! While I was still searching for the perfect way to respond to him, he handed me the second glass of wine he had, stretched out his hand which I held unto like one who had been hypnotized. For the first time in my life I understood what it meant for someone to have your mumu button. Lol!

We sat down and oh lawd, we talked like we had always know each other and from that moment I knew I was in love with him. Aside my siblings, he was the only other person I had met that knows music the way I do. We talked about every single thing on the face of the earth. He told me about his family who all live in America while he lived alone in Nigeria and worked with one of the oil companies. It was simply beautiful!

We exchanged digits at the end of the party and when he got home, he called and we talked non stop. We were constantly on the phone even while he was at work and I in class. He knew my schedule like I did his. He was just everything I asked God for.

On his birthday 3 months after we met, we went for dinner with a few friends and after that outing I went home with him. While we were cuddled up on the couch just gisting, he cut short my words with a kiss and I felt actual fire consume me body, soul and spirit and I wanted more. We were so consumed in the act that we almost forgot we had a no sex agreement. When we both realised we were in dangerous terrain, I jumped off the seat and we just started laughing.

I was to stay over that night but we both agreed I had to leave; even though that hurt real bad. I was so tempted to go back to his place on my way home thinking “giving him the cookie jar is not a big deal” but I didn’t.

On Christmas day of that year, he went down on his knees and proposed to me in the presence of my family members and his friends who had come over for a shindig and of course I said yes amidst tears and laughter. We got married in March, 2011 and blessed with two very beautiful babies. It’s been almost 6years as a married couple and I can’t thank God enough for what he has done for me.

He gave me a precious gift in my husband and I don’t take it for granted. The most beautiful thing about this too is that he feels the same way about me. I feel so blessed! We have had our challenges and he is not perfect just like I am not but we have made up our minds to stay committed to each other and most of all God’s grace has been abundant for us.

Finally for every single person out there looking for love, have an open mind, never give up on your dreams because from my experience, dreams actually come true and love could be lurking at any corner.

Beautiful day BVNs and kisses to you, Stella Korks.

*Hmmm Ajebota meeting point!.....

  4. I'm so in love with this Igbo guy. The feeling is mutual. He has all these plans for us. My problem is that I'm a Muslim, though we are liberal in my house. I just wonder how my parents will feel if I tell them about him. He really wants to meet them. This love thing sef. #Bigsigh#. Wishing you the best in your marriage poster.

    1. I got married at 28--divorced at 34 because my ex-husband was an abuser and I was not going to die by his hand. At my age now...38--I had basically given up on finding a husband since a woman past 35 is considered old cargo. I did a 21 day fast (absolutely no food just juice from apples) for God to make a break through in my life. I was tired of being alone. I prayed for a family of my own--a husband and a child even at this late stage. Long story short., a month after I had completed the fast, I received a message from my sister that my first love who I met at age 16--he was 17 was pestering her on Facebook looking for my contact. We reconnected and we are getting married this March. He was my first love and remained the love of my life. I still can't believe how fast God answered my prayer. Yours will be answered also in Jesus name.

  13. I met a bv yesterday, asked her out and the first thing she said is that she wants no sex. I replied in affirmative. While wE continued the conversation, she said she loved the meeting point when the lady travelled to Dubai to see a stranger and that she can do that too. For my mind, Shebi you say no sex but you want Dubai meeting point. "Some"girls shall. No love here at all.
