    1. The man is simply saying what people want to hear, not what really is. If the problem is really about ministers enriching themselves and setting up non-charitable organizations under the church, then how does limiting the number of years of service of the GO solve this problem? I don't see any relationship between the two.

  10. Its the truth, I support the taxation on churches. These Pentecostal churches aren't charitable organizations they are businesses that are being passed down to family members and enriching the founders. The Catholic Church is the richest organization in the world, but its not controlled by one man and no pope has owned a private jet. Let's not bring sentiments into this. The Orthodox churches comply and pay taxes for their schools and hospitals even though they operate plenty charitable organizations such as orphanages and old peoples homes, I don't see why the Pentecostal churches who only operate profitable ventures such as schools shouldn't comply.

The citizens need to be protected and the govt. cannot but do otherwise because that is what it meant to do against foreign and local enemies even those under the guise of religion. The Pentecostal religion is but a extreme and fraudulent Christianity that tries to claim it is accountable to God alone whereas controlled by greedy and self-seeking business men concerned neither for members wellbeing nor salvation. The govt. should take a deep look into these churches which not only encourage corruption but are empires of corruption. They have turned God's house into dens of armed robbers, disorderliness and immorality. cyberghoose said so.

Is obvious that if you are setting up for profit ventures, you MUST pay tax. There's nothing deep about it.

Hiding For Profit Ventures under charitable ventures such as churches, NGOs,etc to avoid paying tax and complying with other estates of the law is fraudulent.

    Poverty is truly a bastard.

If every family is comfortable, well to do and reasonable enough to put their hands where their pocket will take them, we won't av all this problems.

They should just collect tax from the churches then. But where is the money going to? Same useless government?

None of my business abeg. If I have money, i'll give my offering and if I don't i'll stay. If they like they should buy one million private jets with the money, as long as God keeps blessing me, it's none of my business.

Wait. Because Muslims head certain government agencies Christians shouldn't pay taxes? You're reasoning with your anus! Olodo. The logic is sound: If you run part of your church (which is an NGO/not for profit organization) as a profit making entity, like schools, hospitals etc, then you must be taxed, subjected to the rules governing pension & even regulated as per tenure of leadership.

  31. History of Obazee before this fight: he was a pastor in Rccg. He erred and was called to order by pastor Adeboye and he asked who the hell the man thought he was. Just a church leader, whilst he is a highly placed government official... that right there is the motive behind all these. he promised to deal with the man, and even when he dug up this old never implemented law, his superiors called him to order and even got the president to rule out that particular law. Obazee still went ahead, thereby disobeying not just his superior, the law of the land but also the president.
Obazee failed not just because he fought against God's church, but because he did it for the wrong reasons and was inspired by pride and vanity.
So he can leave the teachings of what's right and wrong about Nigerian pentecostal churches for those who really wants to fight for what's right!

    1. @miss fee may God bless you for your comment. Most people who are giving opinions on this matter don't understand this issue started right form when this man was a pastor at rccg. He was a parish pastor. He was very unruly and arrogant. He spoke to the workers in his parish anyhow. People started writing petitions to the GO about his behaviour and the GO asked him to come and see him. Only for Mr Obazee to send word to the GO asking who he thinks he his and he should be the one to come to his own office to see him because he's a big man and blah blah blah. He really insulted the GO. That's when stories of him started springing up and then his arrogant and unruly behaviour led to his suspension where he promised to deal severely with PST Adeboye and the whole of rccg. He was really obsessed and annoyed that the GO has a lot if power. He then left rccg and moved to latter rain church. He then started getting close to PST Tunde Bakare to have access to the president. He was asked to hold off on implementing the law until it had bern reviewed but he went ahead after having a shady meeting with some people during the Christmas period. This his so called law he's implementing started in ex president goodluck Jonathan's regime. This same obazee was one of the resons for the termination of sanusi's appointment as CBN governor. His really a bad man. Most people don't understand. Those who were in the same parish with him understand. Even ICAN doesn't like him. Those who know know. Its just that most people don't get the story. Only God knows those who are truly serving him.
