Abuja Airport Closure -Kaduna To Abuja Route Is Awesome!

This is a eye witness report.....Pass it on!

''Hey Stella,

I want to gist you and all bvs about our trip from kaduna to Abuja because of the closure of Abuja airport. Sorry its a bit long.

The flight from Lagos to kaduna was so annoying. We were delayed for 3 hours and at the end of the day both we scheduled for the 1pm flight and those for 4pm flight took the same flight by 4.30pm. And to think we paid higher than them.

Anyway, when we got to kaduna it was a completely different story. The airport, all through still under renovation was beautiful. They welcomed us very well and we got our luggage in less than 15mins.

Right from the entrance they were announcing for those who wanted to take the bus and those who want to take the train. Everyone quickly made a choice and they helped us with our luggage.

We were just 4 who decided to take the train. The bus to Abuja was fully loaded and by 7pm they left with 4 mopol cars(2 behind and 2 in front) an ambulance, and a road safety car. Our train was scheduled for 8.40pm so we chilled at the airport till 8pm after which we were also escorted by mopols to the train station.

When we got to the train station the mopol handed us over to another mopol escorting us to Abuja. The train ride was very comfortable and the train was so lovely. The Latest Avenger was playing, a.c was circulating, everywhere was neat and quiet.

Oh did I mention everything was completely free? No charges for both the bus and the train. We got to the first station, which is kubwa by 10.35pm and I was very reluctant to even get down. At the station in kubwa they were a lot of police. The next and last stop for the train was Idu.

The bus on the other hand was going to Abuja airport and the bus ride was for about 4 hours because they weren't moving fast.

Just an advice, If you are staying around kubwa, gwarimpa axis and also Idu axis take the train. It saves you the stress of going back home from Abuja airport where the bus would drop you.

And If you are travelling to Lagos, just go to the train station here in Abuja and show them your flight details, they will take you free to kaduna and a bus would be waiting for you at the station to take you free to the airport. Same thing if you want to take the bus, go to Abuja airport and a bus would take you to Kaduna.

This experience was so nice, the government tried. Kudos to them. I would be taking the train anytime I want to go to kaduna from now on, so worth it. I took a few pictures.

This is great info, thank you so much BV Teddy!

    1. Thank you GEJ for the reviving the rail sector. The train also travels to kano, Niger, kwara, osun etc from lagos. Very convenient but moves at the speed of snail. My in law who takes it regularly said there is a bar and restaurant there.

    2. Ode,it was Obasanjo not GEJ. Obasanjo planned it,designed it,did the agreement with the Chinese 20% Nigeria -80% Chinese, the Chinese started work, did their bit.Even up till when GEJ lost the election, the buffoon didn't pay Nigeria's 20%.why do you think APC tried to take credit for it?

    3. @anon 16:19, Finally someone that knows something has spoken. I roll my eyes so far into my head I get worried it would get stuck there when I see these foolish comments praising GEJ.

    4. @ Anonymous 16:19...funny how Yar'dua was skipped in the blame game owing to your claim that it's Obasanjo's brainchild but with regards to why APC wants credit for it? Because their buffoonery is monumental & of course All Promises Cancelled (APC)

    5. One of the projects used by gej to milk naija dry. Gej commissioned the same train multiple times in different states and cities as new projects, even when some rail tracks were not ready for operations, they used trucks to move the train from one state to another.

Having escorts to secure you to and fro... from airport to the train station 👌🏻👏🏼

From your explanation seems taking the train is better.

    Thanks for the descriptive information

  16. This just shows that it is not difficult for Nigeria to be a great country. All it requires is for everyone to do their fair share of the work with honesty and dedication. May this be sustained for the entire six months and beyond.
