Already in the Office?Because of traffic and where I lived,I used to leave my house at 4-5am everyday when i was in Nigeria if i had to get into the Island on time to do field work....
I used to Jump mostly Molue and at sit at the back with hot and very soft puffpuff for breakfast..lol
Here its is not so proper to eat in the Bus or train,you can but it simply shows what class you belong to..LOL

ReplyDeleteWas thinking about the fellow that jumped into the lagoon few days ago and I just couldn't help but feel sad....I spent time wondering what could have moved the young man to such an action. Heard that he was just 35 years....
ReplyDeleteAt 35 he was a doctor...had a car, and even a driver...from the Nigerian standard that sounds like a successful young man in all ramifications.
There probably were lots of his secondary school mates or his university mates envying him.
But truth is no one knew what he was going through.....
I concluded that he was having a bout of depression and it took a bad turn.
I will ask some pertinent questions.
When last did we check on a friend that we haven't heard from in a while?
When last did we visit some one we knew was finding things difficult?
When we see someone who had it going so well and all of a sudden is finding it hard to make ends meet, do we make fun of them?
When was the last time we called the names of particular people in our circle during our prayers with our creator, to intercede on their behalf ?
The economy is tough and truly people are finding it more difficult to survive.
I have noticed personally an increased number of destitutes in Lagos lately.
We need to watch out for each other.......we need to call, we need to visit. I am hoping we check in on others from time to time ( physically).
We never know who needs just an ear to listen to all the problems he/she is going through.
Let's be more caring..... To at least call/chat someone per day just to say hello!
Lets ponder on this for a few seconds and decide to assist each other psychologically today. God bless you

We have also done 3 IUI but failed. I have decided to do things differently and hope this will bring a different result. perhaps I have not been praying right. Pls I want to know how to pray abt this situation. Are there scriptures I need to hold on to, are there ways I should pray, are there declarations I need to make. someone told me to be doing midnight prayers. ReplyDeleteIt saddens my heart so much that within a week we have heard about 3 cases of people who committed suicide in Nigeria. The medical doctor that jumped into the lagoon, the politician that set himself ablaze in Abuja and also the 500L student of Lautech. It’s so sad and I can’t comprehend the pains the family will be going through at this time. My prayer is for God to comfort them at this time
Depression is real. Please let us all give a helping hand to our sisters and brothers in need. Life is not about you alone but how many lives you have influenced and touched positively. People are going through so much at this time that it’s even difficult for them to share with other people. Be involve in other people’s life. Check on them. Just a phone call can change a lot of things. Share the little you have with that needy family you know. It doesnt have to be so much because a little drop makes a mighty ocean. You never can tell how much your act of kindness can go to save a dying soul. Let’s be our brothers keeper.

ReplyDeleteI love the confusion I'm causing among Fulani Brown Goats here, one said yesterday that Stella saved me and my "husband" from hunger. Another goat said I don't have a husband and that Stella removed me from the slum and cleaned me up bla bla bla. Choi! I had a good laugh..
Now the truth is that both of them are right. Stella rescued me from the slum in Ajegunle where I lived, rented and furnished a good apartment for me in Ikeja G.R.A and enrolled my 'daughter' in one of the best schools. Last year, she sponsored my wedding and honeymoon in Dubai. Right now, she is the one sponsoring my 2nd degree, pays my house rent, 'daughter's school fees and feeds us including my aged parents, grand parents, great grand parents and siblings. She also promised to get me a good job in Germany and have me move over with my 'husband' and 'daughter'. When someone mocked me the other day that I don't have a car, she mailed me and asked if I can get a good car for #1million, I said yes, she promised to get me and my 'husband' a car before the year runs out. Stella is my world, without her, I will just....
