Word For The Day - JESUS IS LIFE

Sweet Jesus.......

John 14:5-6
5). So Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?
6). Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, AND THE LIFE! No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 11:21, 23 & 25.
21). Martha then said to Jesus, Master, if You had been here, my brother(Lazarus) would not have died.
23). Jesus said to her, YOUR BROTHER SHALL RISE AGAIN.
25). Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the LIFE. Whoever believes in me, although he may die, yet shall he live!

Think about this; Do you know that Jesus never held a funeral service during His earthly ministry? Because life does not recognise death.

God told Adam; The day you eat of this fruit, you shall surely die! I am very sure that God here wasn't referring to physical death. My reasons? Think about this; If no one ever died from the days of Adam, to Noah, to Abraham Isaac and Jacob, to Joseph, to Moses, to David up until this day, planet earth would have been uncontrollably populated!

So what kind of death was God referring to, He was referring to Adam's Spirit perishing! The real you is not your mortal flesh but your Spirit.

To remedy the situation, God sent Jesus as a gift to mankind.
Now, consider this; There are four factors that make a gift precious to you. 1) The Giver of the gift, 2) The reason it was given, 3) What it cost the Person to make the gift available to you, 4) If truly, the gift filled a need!

1)The value of a gift depends mainly on who gave it to you. If your father gives you a gift, you value and treasure it. Knowing that it was given from a genuine heart, without any ulterior motive. God is our Father, and put of genuine love, He gave His only begotten Son(John 3:16).

2)A true giver is he who gives to a person who has nothing to give back in return. God can do without us, but WE CANNOT DO WITHOUT HIM. Considering Adam's misbehaviour, God could have chosen to wipe the entire inhabitants of the earth away and create new beings. But His deep love for us made Him to strategize a means to restore our broken relationship with Him, which was why He sent Jesus(The Gift from God to us)! We would have been helpless without the Gift(Jesus).

3)some gifts are precious because because they represent a great sacrifice made by the giver. When a Person is willing to give what is strongly a part of Him just for your well being, we treasure the gift because of the sacrifice.

God gave "His only begotten Son." When God was creating the universe, Jesus worked alongside Him and thus became "the One He was especially fond of(Prov. 8:30, John 1:1-2)." Jesus is the image of the Invisible God(Col 1:13-15). The bond between God and His Son was so strong, no other gift would have cost God more.

4)The height of value attached to a gift is predicated on the need which the gift fills. Imagine a man dying in the hospital bed because of lack of funds necessary to carry out a surgery that will make him live. Only for a man to step in and clear the huge bill. The patient will never take that saviour for granted, ever.

Friends, we were all patients waiting to die, before Jesus stepped in the scene. Even today, anyone who hasn't accepted Jesus is a patient waiting to die.
God in His infinite mercy saw us in our helplessness and decided to send His most treasured Gift as a remedy.

Jesus made Martha realise that everything associated with Him is Resurrection and Life.
God is a destination through which Jesus is the only route.

Jesus told Thomas, I am the way, The truth and The Life.
If you disbelieve it, it still will not change the reality. Your Faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the ticket to a guaranteed access to God.
