Word For Today -THE POWER IN PARTNERSHIP

FAILURE IS A PART OF YOUR TRAINING......huh*

Luke 5:6-7

6). And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were at the point of breaking,

7)THEY SIGNALED TO THEIR PARTNERS IN THE OTHER BOAT to come and take hold with them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

This story is so broad, I can make three messages out of it. However, My assignment today is on the 7th chapter!

Have you ever heard the biblical statement 'one shall chase a thousand and two shall chase ten thousand?' Well I wasn't very good at mathematics in school but I know that if one can chase a thousand, then two should chase two thousand!

Could it be that the second person can chase nine thousand, hence the text 'two will chase ten thousand'? Offcourse NO! The answer is; through this text, it is evident that God attached alot of power to partnership, hence such exponential growth!

No wonder, neither a man nor a woman can procreate alone, they must come together. And together, they can give birth to as many children as they desire!

In business, partnership will take you to a level that you cannot go solo! AT&T knew it, 'Time' knew it, Warner knew it, Beats by Dre knew it, Coca cola knew it, etc! They know that there are weights that cannot be carried alone.

Do you have friends that can bare the weight of where you are going?

I tell people all the time, 'Show me your friend and I will tell you where you are going!'

Be sure you are hanging with people who can help and not drain you. There are too many people reading this article, the problem they have is their friends and they know it. They want out, but leaving seems impossible.

There are people who never get satisfied with sharing in your blessing, they just want all of what's yours! These are people who do not want to hear and learn how you got your Fish, all they want is your fish!

Too many people are carrying weights, loads and burden that they cannot handle. They seat up in a friendship circle, they are the ones being drained, being sapped and being leeched to death. And because they portray the superman complex, they are too incarcerated to cry out.

Look around you, if everybody is taking from you and not adding anything, If everybody is draining you, you obviously have not found the right people.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying you should abandon your friends because you are the sole supplier.

If Peter and his team did not have reasonable partners, everything they had would have been lost.

Atleast Peter's partners had a boat, they had nets, they had the basic materials which were handy during their 'net breaking' experience.

You need to identify with the right people. People you trust and know can handle the blessing with you when the release comes.

Lets go a little deeper into our text:

Here, Peter did all his expertise could do in the fishing business, yet that day did not produce results. Jesus tells him to cast his net on the other side, then he adamantly did!

Sometimes your education, exposure, intellectual capability, your expertise, can put you in a place where you think you can pull through without the help of God.

Life is too deep, you cannot pull through by yourself. God will sometimes let those qualities fail you before He steps in. So that when the Miracle takes place, people and even you will know that of a truth, He alone could have done it.

Bare this in mind, FAILURE IS A PART OF YOUR TRAINING. Sometimes God can allow you to fail to humble you. You need to fail sometimes to know that you are not as good as you think you are!

Whenever God allows you to have a down time, it is an opportunity for you to prepare yourself better than you did before. Peter never expected that the fishes he was unable to catch will become surplus and eventually want to drown him, thereby needing the help of his partners. Down times are times when you also select parners. I say this all the time, what is yours is yours! But it will come to you when God sees that you are prepared enough and ready for it! Your blessing is not based on your circumstance, it is based on your position in Christ. Anybody who believes in the Lordship of Jesus Christ over his or her life has a thousand and one heavenly benefits accrued to the person.

When you read the full story, youd realise that Jesus came asking Peter for his boat. Peter did not give Jesus his boat because he wanted to partner with Jesus, he gave Him because he was liberal. And offcourse you know what the bible says about the liberal person, "For the liberal soul shall be made fat(Proverb 11:25)!" And after Jesus was done using his boat, He told Peter to launch into the deep.

Learn to leverage what you have for what you need. Learn to give without expecting anything in return. Look at this; if you give to the needy, God will give back to you. God will not necessarily give you what you gave to the needy, God will give you what you need.

  22. Giving is the hardest thing for a lot of ppl, they think when they give out old n used things that r not their size anymore then they r done it all. To me that is just a step. Why not pay a child's fees or something. I won't stop if i write more abt this but my point is make it a habit to give no matter how little it is or how big.
