It was her money lanre used to entice mercy. The hotel he manages now was built by that lady. Her name is Toyin.
When she heard about mercy being pregnant for her hubby, she accepted it in good faith and started to send money through lanre for their upkeep. Mercy cannot deny this. Mercy was even driving one of her cars. This Toyin lady never used her position as a top police officer to Bully mercy. Rather, it was mercy who began to use her status as a celebrity to humiliate the woman. She mocked her for not being able to have kids for lanre. Even her co actresses would bombard the hotel the woman shared with her hubby to spite her. The story is long I beg.
But the bottom line is that, when the first wife had enough she eventually left her marriage for mercy. She even left the hotel for them and they've run it down due to mismanagement. Meanwhile Mercy was merely managing lanre because she was too ashamed to leave him when she realised he had nothing. Lanre knew mercy was seeing other men, hence her flamboyant lifestyle which he could never afford her.
