Uber Driver Who Drove Off With Lady's Bag Containing Passport And Over N1m Has Been Nabbed

A first time visitor to Nigeria was left stranded recently after a Lagos Uber driver robbed her of over N1Million. The victim, a South African named Mo (Mongy Mathobela) complained on her facebook and that led to the arrest of the Uber driver...

UBER DRIVER ARRESTED

This exactly what happened plus all the sms' he sent his victim...

''He was able to drive off with the bag because she was to pick up a document from one Yemi in bakare estate, agungi and head  to South Africa .so as usual she went into the compound and asked him (driver )to give her few minutes.by the time they came out he was no where to be found and he sent her a text saying he drove off to the nearby mosque to pee and he was coming right back but that was the end of the show before they realized he was gone for good.

Mo has been using the guy since she travelled down to Nigeria and she's a very nice and generous lady.

she saw the guy as a young and cool guy and showed support to encourage his hustle.mo would give this guy 50 percent of whatever her fare came to and just last week she said he drove her to balogun or was it ogba and in the process someone picked his iPhone 5 and she had to give him 75k to get a new phone but he didn't get an iPhone but at least he got a phone with an internet to sort his Uber directory and all.

she gets him food at every outing and made him comfortable.so,it was after the story went viral that his neighbor on the mainland alerted Mo through her DM TO COME TO a particular address on the mainland.then the neighbors alerted others to use cars to block the taxi so as for him not to be able to drive out because already he had packed his stuff.
Thats they were able to arrest him

THE SERIES OF TEXT MESSAGES FROM BETWEEN UBER DRIVER AND MO

Instead of swearing and cussing him out,Mo ticked him into a conversation whilst the search went on,very smart move

This was sent in to SDK Blog by one of Mo's friend and she says the gang all read this blog...

    1. See how this guy allowed demons destroy his life. The lady is extra nice and would have continued to be great blessings to him but no, the criminal had to ruin it for himself by himself. Too bad.

No wonder our bishop just looked at everyone and told us to pray to God to give us heart of flesh no more stone.

The woman will be afraid to use any driver in Lagos again. Stupid thief.

  3. Hmm okay o.
People mocked her on Twitter for exposing the money and trusting a uber driver to look after her bag while she stepped out of the car.

Stella, please isn't blog maintenance over? What's this advert after every comment and loading over 200 comments is now tedious. My sight is bad o.

    1. Stella never said maintenance was ongoing, She simply monetized her blog, just like other bloggers do. I wonder why it took her this long when she can earn some cool extra cash.

  4. See how he just used fleeting money to ruin a relationship that could have raised/changed his life.

I don't know why people do this. I discovered some weeks back that the woman I buy roasted plantain from has been cheating me, i don't bargain the plantain, she calls the price and I pay.

I gave her money to buy chicken for Christmas also.

Only for me to discover she has been ripping me off big time. I simply greet her now and just pass by to the new woman I am buying from.

    1. Bipolar, trust me when I say 90 percent of Nigerians are thieves my mum employed a woman who comes to help her with few hpuse chores only on saturdays in the house cos my sisters and brothers are all married so no one lives with her, do u know she pays this woman so well, gives her things foodstuff, extra money sometimes, this woman went into her store, stole a lot of plates, kitchen utensils, fancy stuff used in the house, my mum was shocked, she has been stealing till it became too much, I told her to relief her of her job but my mum being a kind hearted woman refused and now lock her things, see how this woman came to spoil her chance, thieves everywhere, I told her to always lock doors up

  11. When I see people insulting Patience Jonathan and co ans former ministers I laugh,90 percent of Nigerians are bloody thieves, they can never see money or something important and remove their eyes, I don't trust Nigerians including many that come up with stories on this blog and beg, I am not surprised, u see them calling leaders thieves meanwhile they would do worse things if they were in their positions, I can't even leave my traveling bag in a driver,s car

  20. If you use Uber, taxify or any any time be security alert.

Be very security alert. Also be polite. God knows how many aggressive Uber taxi drivers I've met.

Do not leave anything valuable in the the car, even if the driver claims to be an apostle.

Immediately the info of the driver comes (regular users will understand) take a screen shot and send to your email or a friend just in case your purse is a snatched or something terrible happens.

Don't fold your legs in the car and doze off, be alert. Some of the drivers provide fake house address and guarantors who dissappear, then switch off their phone so how will you catch them. Please be alert. Especially with Uber and taxify. The way I shine my eyes in the car ehn.

And if you name of the driver or photo looks dodgy, you can reject but do it in the first 7or is it 8 minutes(can't recall)

Don't show anything valuable in the car. If you like be snap chatting with the money to maga just paid you, the rightful owner will collect it.

    1. Thanks for this.

For uber, it's 0-4.59mins or pay for cancellation after 5mins. Taxify is anytime, they don't charge.

I don't use uber again in Lagos. A friend told me of his colleague that boarded an uber cab and she was robbed? The driver didn't lock the doors, he slowed down somewhere and some boys opened and entered. She managed to escape. The guy didn't end the trip till an hour later and she was debited.
