Ariana Grande Concert Blast Suspect Has Been Identified

BRITISH authorities have confirmed the man involved in the Manchester attack died inside the Manchester Arena and was wearing an improvised explosive device as he carried out his apparent suicide mission.

The man has since been named as Salman Abedi, Press Association and US officials have said.

Another 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the bomb attack, which killed 22 people, including children, and wounded 59 more after a concert by US pop star Ariana GrUK police executed warrants in the Manchester suburbs of Whalley Range and Fallowfield, where a controlled explosion took place, as part of the investigation into Monday night’s horrific attack at the Manchester Arena.

Local residents said a “group of people” were taken away by police after the explosion, according to the BBC.

The initial arrest was announced just moments after Prime Minister Theresa May denounced the “appalling sickening cowardice” of the lone suicide bomber, who detonated a homemade device in the foyer of the arena as thousands of young people were leaving the concert.

US security sources said the bomber had travelled to the venue on public transport.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.

  4. Stella, this attack calls for a review on the way people plan for events. We learn from the reports that security was a bit lax and that there was no searches for entrants. In this day and age with elevated threats of Terrorism, events like this ought to be fully security equipped. My heart goes out to the victims of this dastardly act.

    1. Isis doesn't represent islam, so don't equate the two. However a simple solution to the issue of this terrorism in the west is to stop bombing and killing innocents individual in the middle east as this will weaken isis by not beenough able to get sympathisers to recruit to catry out their evil acts.

    2. Yes, it's very convenient for the majority of Moslems to distance themselves from Isis. The truth is Isis is comprised strictly of persons who practice Islam. Why are there no Christian Isis members?

  17. Children as young as 8 years old lost their lives. How in the world would they even think it's alright to target kids who just went to have fun. This means more immigration tightening/security and control of the borders (even though the suspect was apparently British but had been radicalized by the Islamic State) making it harder for innocent people from other countries to come into the United Kingdom!
