Children's Day 2017 - Ooni Of Ife And Wife Host Pupils And Charge Them To Be Obedient To Their Parents..lo

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has implored children to be obedient to their parents and face their studies squarely to become successful in the future.

Ooni Ogunwusi stated this last weekend at his Ile-Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife during this 2017 Children's Day Celebrations Organized for the pupils of the schools across the town and environs by his  wife Yeyeluwa Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi.

"Children, you must always adhere to the instructions of your parents so that you can be well guided in your teen years which will eventually lead to your adolescent stage.

Always listening to the advice of your parents will surely do you a lot of good because they are your best friends who always mean the best for you. When you keep doing what pleases them, they would be happy with you." Ooni Ogunwusi said.

He further cautioned the children against bad friends and prophetically prayed for them

"You must mind who you move with as friends so as not to jeopardize your future and the purpose of God in your lives because amongst you, I'm seeing President, Governors, LG Chairmen, Diplomats, Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Pharmacists and other high calling professions. Am even seeing a king like me and a queen like Yeyeluwa, and that is why you must remain dedicated to your education and be guided by your parents." Ooni prayed.

He also urged parents to ensure proper cares for their children with sound education because that is the only legacy they can bequeath to them.

"Don't let your Children's education suffer because of social outings, so that they will not heap the blames on you when they are grown up that you denied them the opportunity to be trained.

I pray that God will continue to provide for you to be able to do your obligation on them." He said.

Also Speaking at the colourful ceremony, Wuraola Ogunwusi expressed happiness for hosting the school pupils in their numbers on children's day and described the children future leaders who are the actualizers of the society's sustainability saying the children need to be well trained to become successful in life as the bedrock of the society.

"They are the bedrock of the society, whose lives must be nurtured with great values and morals. Parents especially mothers must ensure that their children are well educated and brought up in the way of God because that is the only way we can be proud of them in the future.

"They are the future leaders and the actualizers of the our sustainability of this society who need to be well trained and raised if the world must be sustained meaningfully and productively." Yeyeluwa pleaded.

The Yeyeluwa and her husband the Ooni sandwiched by the multitude of the children were seen singing, dancing and rejoicing to the excitement of the children.

The event which is the second edition witnessed a dancing competition amongst school's Children. While Tofunmi Oyeniyi of Baptist Elementary School, Ilare, Ile-Ife came first with a price of #50,000 cash. Abayomi Mercy of St. Peter's Elementary School B, Iremo, Ile-Ife and Pelumi Abidoye of St. Philips Anglican Primary School, Iloro, Ile-Ife came second and third with #30,000 and #10,000 cash prices respectively
