Nollywood Actress Moji Olaiya Fell Into A Coma Before She Died..

Distraught, distressed, dismayed. Those were the words that could best describe the looks on the faces of many visitors who flooded the Magodo residence of Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya.

Her older brother, Otunba Olaiya, who spoke to NET said Moji’s death was most unexpected.

‘When I spoke to her a few days ago, she did not give signs of death. She never complained about anything. This is really heartbreaking,’ he said.

Olaiya’s housekeeper, Mrs Keji, who described herself as a very close friend of the deceased, revealed details of the actress’ sudden death to us.

According to her, in the last three days before she passed away; the actress had placed several calls from her base in Canada to complain of ‘being uncomfortable’.

‘Her baby was born premature. Her EDD was for May 2017 but complications arose that necessitated that she be induced to save the baby’s life as well as hers. But since the delivery in March, her health had not been exactly perfect.’

Mrs Keji further exclusively informed us that around 10pm local time (3am Nigerian time) she went into a crisis. ‘Her blood pressure shot up and she got unconscious. An ambulance was called to transport her to the hospital. But her case worsened and she gave up the ghost before they could make it to the hospital.’

Keji who could not hold back tears continued, ‘Moji could not say goodbye to us, she didn’t let us hold her baby, where will her mother start from? Her death came too early, I believe this was not ordinary. This looks like a spiritual attack.’

Meanwhile, Moji’s 20-year-old daughter, Adunola was visibly hysterical and had to be held back by friends who were around to console her. The Babcock University student was then taken into an inner room as her screams continued to be heard.

Moji Olaiya’s infant daughter however is said to be in the care of her friend with whom she was staying in Canada. It is unsure what will happen to the two-month-old.

Olaiya’s relationship with the father of the child, simply called ‘Mr Femi’ is hazy as there are insinuations that he is still married to someone else.

The 42-year-old’s death comes almost exactly two years to the death of her younger brother, Abidemi Olaiya who died on May 4, 2015.

Her elder brother Otunba, however told us that the family had not informed their patriarch, renowned highlife muscian, Victor Olaiya.

‘As you know, Baba is old and it is never a good thing for children to die before their parents. We do not know how he will take it. We have to be really careful, but we are going to his Aguda residence later this evening,’ he said.

    2. Most probably pre-eclampsia. .....where the blood pressure is uncontrollably high, difficult
to control, leading to seizure (epileptic state)...sometimes hard to reverse the situation & then DEATH.

This explains why the baby was induced preterm.

Also, the pre-eclamptic state can persist even after delivery. For some women coming out of the seizure can mess up their mind/ memory...then gradually it might come back to normal.
On the whole, it is a serous and very life threatening situation.

    3. You might be right. This happened to me less than 2 months after I had my daughter. I was in ICU for 3 days before I was taken to medical ward. I almost died.it started from headaches. As in serious headaches. I could not see or be around a lit room. In my head I blamed it on lack of sleep but after 3 days and it persisted, I had to see my GP immediately. When the GP checked my BP he said I should be taken by ambulance to A&E and I needed to be seen immediately. Hospital checked me and said I must stay overnight for further monitoring but I asked if my baby can stay with me which they refused and I begged them to let me go home that I would come back first thing in the morning. I was given some medications to buy. As I was coming out of the car to buy my medications. I had a seizure then another one in the ambulance and then I passed out. My baby that I was too scared to leave behind we got separated by force. I thank God for my nanny then who contacted my family and looked after my less than 2 month old baby and a son who was less than 2. Please let us learn to listen to our bodies. May God bless and protect us all. Amen. NA

I tried to stay away from this post cos it reminded me of my mum who died same age as the actress and also my cousin who died in similar circumstance as the actress.

I know its your opinion but please be sensitive. Will her 20yr old daughter be happy reading this? If she were your family, would you be happy if she was talked about same way you did.

Spread love not hate you hear...Most importantly, let GOD be the judge.

    5. The idea of being pregnant and staying with people is not always as it seems. Sometimes Nigerians take advantage of people living abroad to go and have their baby at their expense without being clear about the length of time they would stay. Mother and baby require a lot of attention however Nigerians sometimes expect the host family to be at their beck and call like househelps do in Nigeria. It doesn't work that way abroad. People do things themselves without any problems abroad. People carry their own luggage at airports not expecting a slave to do it. So I don't think anybody made anybody uncomfortable. It's best to have your own money and rent a condo for a short period of time than unconvince people.

They continued dating he bought her a house, businesses and treated her like a 2nd wife more or less. But the wife at home hated her with passion. Especially when she heard of the 2nd pregnancy.
Not so long after she had the 2nd baby at over 40yrs. Her first child died at age 18.
She never got over it and she died 2 years later.
Only the baby is left now. Living with her sister. The man can't even take in the child because of his wife. Though he takes perfect care of her and visits.

What you said is the gospel truth!

If must travel abroad and you don't have the money for hotel or a guest house paid accommodation, just that trip abegi..!!!
    For your own safety.
Most (98%) of people living abroad in Europe, Canada or USA are not welcoming to visitors!!!
They don't mind talking to you on phone or how ever long distance and far away, but once they see you face to face and coming to share or "take" anything from them, no matter how little or insignificant, that can turn diabolical or unbelievable cruelties and spiritual troubles will enter your life.

I assure had she given birth in Nigeria, she may still be alive today and still be around to raise her poor kids. She reported just before she died that her host or the people she stayed with in Canada were making her uncomfortable and she was eager to leave that place and return to home to Naija quick.

You may not even imagine or even believe the amount of pettiness, mean spirit and wickedness Nigerians abroad unleash against vulnerable people or those they consider as being desperate or lacking something no matter how small.
Rape, tip off to immigration, taking advantage of illegal status, eviction without notice, stealing, blocking opportunities among so many other are rampant things that Nigerians and other Africans do to visitors and newcomers abroad. Many times it goes unreported and unknown because the victims are so much in terror or afraid of the consequences and what may happen if they tell anyone what their host have done to them.

    1. Anon 22,04, you got me wrong.
I was talking about Nigerians going from Naija taking advantage of Naijas in the diaspora. Nigerians should not expect people living abroad to be at their beck and call and serving them. And Nigerians who travel abroad can be really messy because they are used to househelps picking up after them. This is not the case for people who leave abroad. They pick up after themselves happily so this clash in culture causes problems.
Nigerians abroad also don't go spiritual on anyone abeg
