The woman was their 4th tenant within a space of 6yrs

I'm very happy she has no tenant now bcx I feared for my kids while they exchanged those vulgar words then though they were much younger

I love the peace in our neighborhood

  7. The Problem I had with a Landlord are 1.living in a house with bad sewage system 2. The walls were obviously weak and water-logged 3. The rooms were very humid that my clothes in the wardrobe always had mildew that i had to be sunning my clothes every weekend. I complained to the landlord, only for him to say did he beg us to come and live in the house?

Stella most landlords in Nigeria are very wicked, After you pay a hefty sum for rent, you will still spend money changing a lot of things in the house as they do no maintenance work at all and when you calculate how much you spent in giving your house a facelift ,it is even more than what you paid as rent..

  9. My former landlady a nice yoruba woman whose house rent was ok but will increase like once in 2 years with N50,000 until she passed on from cancer. We had good rapport with her and was nice, trying to have good rapport with the daughter who says she is a Pastor but ojukokoro entered her eyes and demanded 100 percent of increment. Tenants tried to talk to her for where, next letters from lawyers, next came to cut off people's wire. No wahala but she went too far when juju matter enter. My mum nearly died but with the intervention of God, we conquered it, today the yeye lady is no more. House has been sold and shared between the good woman useless children who are in UK but cannot do anything meaningful.

They messed up with the wrong family, you cannot plan your juju and expect to go scot free Mba ooo.

Houses in Lagos have 80% of them landlords juju people. Putting charms and any other thing to make tenants useless. Anyway dem jam rock for where i dey. The new place i stay na, My Bishop did spiritual searching and found it clean and things are really moving well for tenants there. I pity people who rents houses from juju people, i pray God open their eyes to see evils done my these IDIOTS

  10. Let me not remind myself how we were unable to pay our rent and our property's were thrown out and passersby were mocking at us and all sort of talks here and there and we were left to still be around the compound by the car parkside for one good MONTH with our properties littering around. We had to always had our bath very early before anyone is up,we asked for help here and there atleast to move somewhere else quickly because the humilation was getting out of hand but all to no avail till God show himself through someone and we were able to pay for somewhere else and we moved out from the compound. some landlords are so heartless, that was a horrible experience though still batterling to pay the same rent till date in order not to experience what happened in the past.most landlords are so heartless.Gos should just set me up with something permanent doing.Experiencing all of this are never a nice experience sharing.

Istanbul, some of u tenants are not nice too, what if that was his only source of income, my dad is a retired man sometimes I go home to hear that a tenant is owning him for two years ot more without paying, haba where do they want him to eat from?his rent is fair enough o,That was how two tenants owed for three yars and left without paying and he made no issue,if na u sef how u go feel,I am not saying what the lanlord did was nice but if it was long overdue that was the best he could do, u know u can't pay look for someone to live with and not owing, I have decided to help my dad to curb the issue of owing and leaving him and taking advantage of him.some Nigerians are difficult

    3. @chickyclassy. This landlord am talking about is a well known person in the state I live.that house should be like its 12th house, the building was abandoned before we got in because we approach him on it and renovated everything and it was deducted from the rent and was paying fine for years not until things fall apart.so he doesn't really need the rent that desperately, he is a rich man and when he threw us out,he abandoned the building just like before.so I understand ur point of view.this one was extremely wicked.

      Delete
    4. I can relate @istanbul. Same way we paid for a year, renovated the building ad the landlady came and asked us out saying she wants to make use of the apartment. I have never seen my mum so confused, we had to make use of an uncompleted building just to put our head

You can say that again! Married woman walking upandan their flat naked when hubby no dey, their bedroom window and mind are directly opposite. Well, was, this was years ago in another house. Young sexy thing, TTC for some years, funny generous husband, nice couple, but for the naked thingy. I worked from home mostly, still do, when her hubby is gone, their window flies open, she sings loud and prances all over their flat naked. At first it was fun, but when I realized it was deliberate I tuned off. Would shut my windows, gen kuku dey full standby. When hubby comes she'll cover up. Hope they have kids now.

Another house, as a much younger and irresponsible man, I 'took' 2 sisters and their cousin and friends. It was crazy. Meanwhile landlord was very strict o, but somehow didn't suspect me.

God forgive me, one time I was fingering his daughter to my left, while he was on my right discussing politics. It was in the general downstairs balcony. πŸ˜”

  13. The compound I lived while serving in ekiti. The landlord has 3 alsian dogs and he didn't even care for them well enough. You can't keep your pots outside or any of your belongings without those dogs disrupting the place. One day they sniffed through the bin and found used pads tied in the nylon and licked the whole blood I was mortified😳😦my next door neighbour and I had no choice than to flush all used sanitary pads down the toilet. At that point the man had no choice than to cage them.

  14. First when I moved to lagos to live in Lagos I was told that cos I was an igbo person they won't give me a house to pay and live in,i went to three houses, they asked what tribe , once i say igbo they will tell me right to my face , they they dont want an igbo tenant that was when it dawned on me how much tribalism has eaten some yorubas so much,I was ashamed to say I am a Nigerian, finally I got a house, two weeks after paying for two years, the landlord said I should pay for one more year to make it three years, after paying for two years o,I suffered, house rent wasnt cheap o, sometimes he will come asking for money ahead before rent expires,I am glad I left that house to a peaceful great place.

    1. I know a family that had same problem. The agent faked a yoruba name on the agreement.

After paying and they wanted to sign, they saw a yoruba name and refuse to sign and told the landlord they are igbo. The landlord said he doesn't want an igbo person in his house. They didn't even argue, they told him to refund. Oga no fit refund 6m rent, he allowed them.

      Tribalism has really eaten some.

    2. I don't blame yoruba's for not wanting igbo tenants, truth is an igbo couple will come to rent a place and at the end of the day their whole generation is living inside the flat, then to make matters worse they usually spoil the flats.have seen this happen severally in my grandma's place. Now there is nothing you can tell her to make her take igbo tenants.

  19. Our former landlord is devilish. Twas a face me I face u house. Sometimes we'll wake up to see red candles in front of our doorstep and other times we'll see the landlady doing incense right in front of our door. They attend cele church.

They even went as far as disconnecting our light. When the spiritual attack was getting too much, we had to move to my momsy's shop (all 6 of us) till a room came out in the compound. Those were the dark periods of my childhood. The landlord is late now and they found a live tortoise in his tank where we buy water from. Thank God for delivering us from those evil people.

  20. Some landlords are from the deepest pit of hell. Very wicked. Thank God I've been liberated from all that. The last landlord i had, if he notices you doing well he starts fighting you spiritually and even physically. Calls himself a lawyer. He tried to mess with me and my family but God pass am. His karma is still cooking.

  21. If you want to move to a new place, please do spiritual findings. A lot is happening badly. As we have foolish landlords, so are there some tenants that are from abyss, hell is manageable but abyss you cannot manage.

  22. My worst experience with my Landlady while I was an undergraduate was, whenever a girl comes looking for me She'll keep a grudge with me, telling me she doesn't like visitors in the house. In fact I was practically a prisoner, if my GF comes to stay with me she'd quarrel with me saying I should tell her first before anyone comes to stay with me and how long the person will stay. It was so annoying but whenever my neighbor would bring a girl and bang the living hell out of the girl that everyone could practically hear the girl giving better soundtrack from the next compound she won't say shit. So 3 months to when my rent will expire I decided to make life unbearable for her. Early in the morning I'd light up a better weed in front of my varander and increase the volume very loud and bring in a friend and she'd feign as if we are gbenshing and be shouting like my D wants to kill her. I did this till my rent was due and when I went to meet her that I wanted to renew my rent she just told me to go look for another house. As if I wan even stay there again sef.

Their tenants here are like their children and they love them. There are bad landlords in lagos that will frustrate your life and you have to be very prayerful

  24. I remember a story a colleague told me abt their landlord's son sometimes back while(they have moved to their own house now)

The house is a passage house with each room connecting to the other

They lived in a room and parlor and their room was also connected to another room so, everything going on in one room can be heard in d other unless u are very cautious....

According to her, when ever the landlord's son's babe comes, they won't sleep so hv rest whether day or night

She said she girl will be shouting

    "Ha,ha,ha,e too sweet o"

    Chai,ode u wan kee me?

U no knw say e sweet?

    Hey hey hey

She said d guy will be

    "Hmmmmmm hmmmmmm"
    Haghhhhh

Then I now asked what her hubby does while they listen and she said

    Her hubby will be like
    "This pple have started again"

Thank God they r no longer there and their kids weren't wt them then

  25. Will i say my land lord is a dubious man? My rent was supposed to be due this month but he made me pay in February. initially i refused to pay making reference to our tenancy agreement and my bank teller which i paid in May last year, after few days my fiancee called me that he got a call from my landlord (he has the wife number in case he can't reach me) that their children are sick and they want me to pay the rent in advance, that is their last resort, my boo Now said i should collect their account number that he will make the payment for me, the next week after he did that they called him again to borrow them #50,000 which he told them he doesn't have . My boo do give them things whenever he comes to see me and they always want to exploit him.
Since last year November he doesn't pay electricity bill ,is my Neighbor That pays for him so that they won't cut our light since the flats do not have prepaid meters that he promised to get for us since last year. The electricity tarrif was increased last month and each flat contributed #10,000 each but land lord refused to pay on the bases that he is broke. We haven't had light since last month, nobody is willing to pay his own #10,000 bc he never pays bk,everyone is now using generator except him. Our security bill he stopped paying for it on the ground that it is God that watches over us, it is we his tenant that pays his own bill bc we all know the value of the security services. The water in the compound is not clean, it is muddy you can only use it to flush the toilet and he keep promising to work on it which he has never done, he and his family uses it like that. I have to be buying water. Am so sick and tired ,I have asked them whether they can refund me my money bc buying water and fuel plus the high cost of living in this abuja is high and getting a new house in Abj is not really a problem if you have ur money at hand you can get whatever you want but my fiancee and mum said i should just manage it that they are nice people jst that the time is hard for them.

  27. hmmmm Stellaa,

I shared flat with a lady in an estate in Lagos island, hmmmm wetin my eye see I no go fit talk am finish.

I told her I have loads oh, she said no problem that anything that can not enter my room she will show me where I will keep them. na so I carry my kaya pple begin wonder wether na only one room all these load go enter.

until this lady came back in the night I knew I was in trouble.

she said I must find how I will fix my things in my room and I was like you said..., noo ooo at every stage of her life she always sell off her things and start buying them back at a later stage. my eyes almost popped out.

the following morning she called aboki to come and buy my stuffs at a very ridiculous price, I was having haggling price with them she said they should leave me that I think the things are good stuff that by the time rain finish them for me I will learn. I thought she was joking, hmm if I tell you what I sold for 13k you go pity me.

she said I cannot put anything in front of my door , I cannot use the sitting room, even kitchen she would have told me to sell my four burner cooker and use her own, in my mind I was like hmmm sell my cooker ke, she later created space for me in the kitchen,

we quarrelled about twice that she insulted me with the little she knows about me and after the second time I decided I will not quarrel with her again no matter what.

hmmm I didn't know that me not minding her when she is insulting and cursing me is another offence on its own.

every night she will curse me and insult me, not only cursing she starts this cursing section when she notices my tv is off and am ready to sleep. I was not sleeping because she will do it till around 1am or more.

hmmm, the intermediary between us too was childish, whenever I tell him this is what she has done again that one will go and tell her and when she comes back home that night I go hear am.

she almost killed me with incense, she will put it by my door, I begged severally, for where, she will still do the same thing the following day.

she went spiritual later oh saying that I don't talk again she doesn't know who I talk to , I had to run for my dear life.

I later remembered she told me that the last tenant stayed 10months, I left at 9 months.

her house help must know what I am cooking to tell her oh otherwise she is dead that day, she told me one day to stop greeting her that I should have known she doesn't reply , she even cut water to punish me and we both suffered buying water that was when I knew she is not normal.

I have never seen a wicked person like that all my life.

  28. My former landlord practically didn't like me coz I didn't give him the liberty to control me.

Anytime he sees me, the first thing he says is 'igbo witch'.

He disconnected our light and nobody could do anything about it. When I returned and saw it, I went to remove his own fuse. He was mad and angry. I no send am. I told him plainly, take me to otaru palace o else na trouble u dey find.

He later came to apologize that my neighbors were disturbing him that's why he removed it.

After that small quarrel, we became best of friends.

And he was always praising me that he has never seen a guy in my room before unlike my neighbors. Lol.

  29. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to live in a house where father is the landlord, mother, over grown children both married and divorced doing nothing meaningful feast on the rent of tenants like their life depends on it, kill their father because of greed, now rip off tenants, jazz on the tenants, stagnation everywhere and they all live in the compound. Cut and join house for that matter. RUN if you ever come across such.

  32. My former landlady was something else. So many rules. She was so troublesome, even at 64 years. I was told a fellow Alhaja a tenant fought her,and she called police to arrest her.

She wanted to pocket every tenant but I didn't let that happen. Lagos traffic will make me get home past 10pm and the woman don lock gate oo. She changed padlock that she alone will control the gate, didn't give out keys(some bad guys in the neighborhood threatened her cos she was messing with their guys living in the compound). So I have to knock her door while leaving by 5am to ask for key each morning. Those that have cars couldn't even park inside to avoid going to work late cos of the key wahala. She even transferred the switch for pumping water into her house, she pumps when she wants.

At a point she will delay in giving me the key in the morning or opening the gate when I come back. I gave her a piece of my mind. Alot of things happened and she called her fake police to come and arrest me. As a sharp babe I disappeared that night and went to make official report at the nearest police station next morning. The DPO sent a police officer to come bring her in for questioning. She was so ashamed and humiliated.

Long story short, she gave me quit notice. I left when I was ready.I can NEVER live in the same compound with a landlord or landlady, whether in desperate need for a house or not.

    ReplyDelete
  33. This happened to a next door, the landlord would sneak into the apartment of tenants anytime everyone has gone to work. He gave the impression he had submitted all the keys to the tenants but kept one each for the apartment rented.
The tenants would come back and wont suspect a thing but one day run ran out of the landlord, the wife of one the tenants came back and met the man inside their bedroom going through everything in the house.
So scary thinking about it, thinking all the bad things he could have done and to imagine the man is a Pastor in First Square Bible Church.
All the tenants moved out but begged they should keep it hush hush , in the mans eye the community doesn't no but everyone carefully watching if any wrong move happens in his compound.
    Very few landlord are peaceful.

  34. My landlord isn't your typical Mr Nice guy, but when I told him where I worked, He actually insisted on knowing, he was kinda partial to me. But other tenants, no be here. The worst case was no generator was allowed in the compound but he has and use his to power his house and mine. Finally, he is ill and his wife is in charge. Nice woman, now, tenants stay, and not moving out every other year.

  38. Some tenants are frustrating. Imagine one that owed rent for over 3 years, had to use court to make him leave. He still did not pay and worst of all he loosened every single electrical socket in the house.

Original sockets!. So we lost the rent pls extra cost of replacing sockets plus the rubbish he left behind. It is well with him. I pray he becomes a landlord one day with a tenant as "good" as him.

Being nice sometimes people will take you as a fool. Because we let this man go without any fight, now the other tenants have started showing themselves. They have refused to pay over 1 year now. The Lord will fight for us and we will hold our peace.

Thank God this is not what we are relying on for daily bread.
