  2. Hmmm the Bible is deep!

But the good thing is that we all know what is good and what is bad now. So we don't necessarily have to search for every wrong act from the Bible... Do I make sense?
    I have no idea loool

  8. Satan will do all he can to discredit Gods' Word. Only those of the Spirit can begin to understand Gods' Word. The natural man and the world can't.

  9. I read the Bible as the the Holy Spirit leads me. Well I'm yet to come across any chapter that covers slavery except the servant/bondmaid agreement stated in the book of deuteronomy. If that's what's being interpreted as slavery, then let me give my opinion. If I remember correctly, the Holy scriptures gives 7 years as the time frame for your maid to serve you and your household and after the seventh year, the maid would be set free to go wherever pleases him or her. If the maid refuses to live and chooses to remain with you, then you can accept them as members of your household.

As for fornication being a greater sin, I don't think so at all. I'm Catholic and we're taught about different types of sins. So I believe certain sins are weightier than others. The Bible says we sin against our own bodies. Slavery(not domestic service this time) is a sin against mankind and the creator. I'll have to fault those fanatics who condemn and pronounce judgment on others. They are the ones always sending people to hell fire forgetting that the righteousness of man is like a filth before God almighty. To them sin begins and ends with fornication and adultery. You'll find them basing their arguments on flawed logic. Quite laughable.

    1. Thanks, I have the first paragraph of your submission embedded in my reply somewhere down.

Of course, sins are sins, the bible says if you fail in one you have failed in the others, so if you are not involved in sexual immorality, (which by the way doesn't begin with physical touch,it starts from the mind) but you are a chronic liar, you could as well be having loads of sex also.

We all should strive towards keeping ALL of the commandments both the decalogue and the others.

    2. sin is sin no weightier or lighter sin

    3. The way humans send each other to hell in their judgement, if God does dt to use, there will be no living being on earth anymore. Take this blog for instance, there are more judges than reader. People actually condemn you on the basis of their own sin thereby creating more pretenders than real ppl.

  10. I believe a good number of israelites gave themselves as slavesdue to a debt owed or as a result of poverty. Once two of your slaves mate and produce a child. The child is also your slave. Foreign slaves were handled differently. They were captured/abducted. But regardless, if you could pay your debt you were usually set free after. Hopefully this will inform someone that didn't know this 😁

  11. Arrant Nonsense people are just looking for any excuse to console themselves for this sin called fornication! Madam Mira no one is sitting here telling you that fornication is bad rather God Almighty said it is BAD flee. HE Said that the sin of fornication is against your body which is HIS temple. HE is meant to dwell there so HE doesn't want it defiled because HE is Holy! So stop this unhealthy comparison, you cannot be holier than God.

  12. If the words "...love thy neighbor as thyself" means nothing to you then what can anyone do to help you? She's waiting for the Bible to say it just like she would like to see it. Kole work.

  13. Slavery was not God's plan for anyone. He never made us so we could rule over each other.

The simple plan was that he was to be God and the rest of humans were to be equals regardless of gender.

But then sin came in and the consequences brought in "Subjects, slaves, rulership of man over woman.."etc.

God didn't authenticate slavery, he saw that we had in our folly made it a form of living and maybe somehow we are better for it, as much as we are beings with Freedom/rights, we are subject to the Government(an institution made up by man). So while you might not have a branded skin stamp signifying you are a subject of the Government, you are actually "subject" to the government.

Now 3 of the commandments say "Thou shall not kill, Thou shall not steal,Thou shall not covet thy neighbour....."

And the new Testament goes ahead to elaborate that these commandments ain't literal alone but contextual that's why Jesus expantiated that commiting adultery" doesn't begin from sticking a penis into a vagina, it starts from looking.

Slavery is a sin, no argument about it, you steal a human's freedom when he becomes a slave, you kill his ambitions, dreams too because he is subject to fulfilling yours, and indeed you have not only coveted him but actually brought to fulfillment the covetion. So the Bible doesn't condone slavery ma, did you even know that God gave the Israelites a law concerning the number of years a slave could serve them hereafter which he must be set free?

Finally, I find it funny that she calls the act of premarital sex "fornication" though, since the term "fornication" is supposed to be a Christian term, a plain person should just call it sex,at least that's what is supposed to be to freelance people.

Very good analysis you've got there. Modern slavery still pretty much exists but in different forms.

  14. And why didn't it say anywhere that
    "taking cocaine is wrong?"
    That committing suicide is wrong?
That smoking Ganja or injecting heroin is wrong?
Is it God that is making nuclear bombs and wars?
Folks are forming drug cartels and selling hard drugs and weapons; is it God?

    But what does it say;
Genesis 3:32 "And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. . ."
Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

God is not a policeman who is policing the world to stop every evil from happening. Man is made in his image and likeness and is a co-ruler of the creation with the Lord. So he chooses what to do and bears the consequences.

  15. God however tried to encourage mankind to mitigate slavery.
Lev. 25:29 "'If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves.
Deut. 15:12If any of your people—Hebrew men or women—sell themselves to you and serve you six years, in the seventh year you must let them go free. 13And when you release them, do not send them away empty-handed. 14Supply them liberally from your flock, your threshing floor and your winepress. Give to them as the Lord your God has blessed you. 15Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you. That is why I give you this command today.

  16. the term "slave" became evil because of how the whites treated their black slaves, since the beginning of time people had slaves but they took good care of them clothed them, gave them food and water, even allowed them to marry themselves and have kids in peace, but the whites took theirs to the inhumane level, they used hot iron on them, tortured them, made them work without food, raped them endlessly, used them for experiments without anaesthesia so that they could feel the pain amongst other undocumented atrocities, pls that is pure wickedness not slavery, the slavery the bible is talking about is more like what we call house girls,as far as someone works for you without pay that person is called a slave. it was not meant to be a curse or a bad thing but the whites turned it upside down making slavery look EVIL,even Timothy in the bible was a slave but he could read and write, the bible says do unto others what you want others to do unto you, so treat your servants and slaves like human beings not an animal, as for the fornication part, deep down in your soul you know you feel departed from God when you commit that act, you no need argue am

  20. this woman knows absolutely nothing. if the bible never criticized slavery why did God send Moses to Egypt? Abraham and the rest didn't have slaves, they had servants as the bible called them. for now i can only remember the Israelites situation in Egypt but i'm certain it is mentioned in some kind of way. Remember, the bible is a mysterious book filled with parables. Only the ones filled with the Holy Spirit would understand.
