Al Jazeera Media Network Given Quit Notice..

The four Arab countries involved in a diplomatic row with Qatar have given the oil-rich nation a 10-day ultimatum to meet 13 demands, including shutting down Al Jazeera media network, before normalcy can be restored.

The four countries are Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Bahrain.

Al Jazeera on Friday reported that the list was presented to Qatar by neighbouring Kuwait, which is acting as a mediator in the crisis.

It was released more than two weeks after Saudi Arabia led a coordinated freeze by nine countries on diplomatic and trade relations with Qatar.

According to Dailypost Apart from shutting Al Jazeera and its affiliates, other conditions given to Qatar are: halting the development of a Turkish military base in the country, reducing diplomatic ties with Iran, cutting ties to terrorist organisations, stop interfering in the four countries’ affairs and stopping the practice of giving Qatari nationality to citizens of the four countries.

Qatar has yet to publicly respond to the demands.

The Arab nations cut ties with Qatar on June 5, accusing it of supporting terrorism and destabilising the region.

Qatar has rejected the accusations, calling them “unjustified and baseless.”

  1. I've never watched Aljazeera, so can't defend or accuse them of wrongdoing. Please those who get news from them, what does the station report? I'm trying to understand why they've been asked to shutdown. I always thought Saudi Arabia had a hand in terrorism and Egypt with their Muslim brotherhood isn't exempt so what's really happening? Lemme use Google cos my questions are "boku"

    1. The situation has Muslim Brotherhood written all over it, To me some of the Gulf countries are kinda diverting attention to the core issues as stake. Aljazeera has been transparent so far.

  2. Supporting terrorism? That's a serious allegation. Aljazeera is doing an amazing job so let them leave them out of their issues.

  3. haba this is too much ,iam sure there is more to this, closed down Aljazeera mba mba something deep is going on ,Arab people just wake up one morning and disown one of their own ,this is deep ,so meaning no more hajj abi mecca for all Qataris if this demands arent met .Saudia Arabia make una fear God oh

    1. Intelligent Diva... U really are correct. Saudi arabia arent bn sincere.

  4. SA is the biggest supporter of terrorism. Anywho, they say hold your friends close and your enemies closer. Sometimes you have to play the fool to catch the wise. The ME needed a scapegoat and someone to point the finger at and Qatar just so happened to have been picked for it. You don't see smoke without fire, Qatar is just about to host the World Cup and now all of this, why? What for? After they plunked down so much money to prepare for the world suddenly they are terrorist backers. Seems to me this was an economic move meant to impoverish them, seems like some ppl are nervous about something, but what do I know I'm just an outsider looking in on hatred and wickedness at play.

  5. al Jazeera can't be shut down because of unsubstantiated accusations, never,I prefer them to BBC and CNN.
