Important Info Concerning News On Kidnap Kingpin Evans...

Assistant Commissioner of Police and head of Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari, has urged members of the public to ignore most of the comments purportedly made by kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans.

He stressed that most of the information shared about the kidnapper was false

According to Kyari, the strategy used by security agents to track and nab Evans was confidential information that was known to only him and a few senior officers in the Police force, which was in contrast to what had filtered into the public domain.

He noted that Evans faced the media only twice and could not have been issuing public statements on a daily basis as conveyed by some section of the media.

Kyari said on his Facebook page: “Friends: There is a need to clear the air on some issues that are misinforming/misleading the good members of the public who are passionate about fighting crime.

“First, 90 percent of all information relating to the arrest of Evans and what Evans said that’s being shared on social media and some print media are false.

“Just like most Nigerians, I wake up every morning and hear different false stories on social media pertaining to how we arrested Evans and what he said.

“Second, the actual strategy and technology we used in arresting vampire, Evans and other big kidnappers is known to only me and very few senior officers I am working together with in the FHQ.

“Third, someone like Evans would never have been arrested based on the few technics that were officially mentioned or the ones circulating in social media which are actually technics already known to criminals.

“We’ve gone ahead of those technics. Our real strategy and technology used in picking Evans and his gang members have never been mentioned to the media or members of the public, and will never be mentioned.

“Fourth, Evans faced the media twice; first when he was paraded in the Lagos command HQ by the Force Public Relations Officer and secondly when he took IRT detectives to his detention camps in Lagos for the world to witness him taking the police to his camp that only him and his boys knows. This is so that in future he cannot deny acquiring and operating kidnapper’s detention camps in Lagos.

“Fifth, please I urge members of the public to focus more on what they see or hear from major newspapers and television stations who have names to protect and avoid the avalanche of lies and fictions that is coming out from blogs and social media every day.

“Yes we agree Evans is the biggest and most notorious criminal arrested during the social media age in Nigeria, but there should be some decree of decorum and honesty in reporting news please. Many thanks to all our friends and well-wishers, may the Almighty bless us all in our endeavors.”

    2. Nigerian Police and their lies. When high profile terrorists were captured or killed in America every detail of how it went down was revealed. Who are we deceiving?? Now Evans has sued the Police. Why wasn't he charged to court immediately?? Why parade someone who hasn't been convicted in the eyes of the law? What if he claims he was coerced into confession?? Abeg stop. Get your act Police. Persecute this one and keep it moving! It's like super eagles celebrating one goal before half time!

  14. Isn't this medicine after death? This should have been issued while those numerous stories purportedly coming from Evans, were hitting the media per second. This is damage control because of the legal implications being highlighted by the defence counsel for Evans.

In a way, I'm happy Evans now has legal representation to put the police on their toes. The whole saga was becoming ridiculous. The severity of his "alleged" atrocities was whittled down with the whole fanfare from social media. No wonder some people were already advocating for his release and comparing his "alleged" crimes with those allegedly committed by some of our politicians.

Enough already! Let the court case begin and let him be seen as the vicious animal he really is. As for this "important information", I'm afraid the damage has already been done. That ship has sailed way past the Rubicion.  ‎

  18. Story story.
So those pictures your crew abi police officers took with Evans are also Photoshop.
The police messed up with all the information filtered out. They have realised their mistakes in not conducting things professionally and are now trying to clean their mess.

    2. My dear read to understand my comment before writing thrash under my comment.
I said police started messing up when their officers started taking pics with Evans like a celebrity. The police sensationalized the whole thing.
From there the whole media circus started.
Now they claim all what the media published is false.

  21. If it was just twice he faced the press, what about the day he was taken to his Magodu house with press men and officers? First was his parade at GID, then his house at magodu,3rd was his visit to his torture house. It shows Mr Abba is lying to the public. Cage ur police officers, they re the ones licking informations out to the press.
