Saturday In House Gists - GBAGAUN;Cant Deal!

I had an Interesting conversation with someone two days ago and for two nights now,I wake up at night laughing and remembering every word....I cant deal abeg!

My Nigerian friend who lives in the Diaspora called me.....

''Stella you are not  collecting my calls since now, dont tell me your wife does not let you pick calls''

''Husband you mean,Abeg I am fine, been very very busy. How are your kids and wife''

''My two kids is fine but my husband, she is disturbing me too much so I want to park out to my own place, the kid will visit me when they want...''

We are basically new friends so his tenses confused me for a bit,so I changed the conversation  after a while he asked me ''Stella how is your wife, she dey house?''

What!!!!...I used style to correct him and he used style to correct me again with emphasis..

I changed the conversation to Evans the Kidnapper and said to him

''Oh boy have you been following the Evans News''

He does not know that I am a journalist or that I blog so he went on to school me about how greedy Evans was and the whole story.

''Evans is a very foolish woman, she is so greedy, only her want to eat all the money and her husband is a big liar saying he no chop money...I just dey here suffering and see how them are making money in Nigeria.Evans and her wife should go to jail....''

I said ''Yes Evans and his wife.................''

He corrected me and that was when I finally understood that to him I was the one speaking the wrong tenses and that was why he was putting emphasis on some of the words.

Has this ever happened to you?Can you recount the Gbagaun?

Dont get me wrong, nobody is above mistakes but not this type abeg!

  5. When a friend kept arguing stomach is pronounced "stomok" and not "stomak". He kept correcting me by repeating the sound in an emphatic way. It hurts my head to explain especially when you know you are right. Also the phrase men in suit, lady in red etc A friend kept arguing it's "on" not "in" and even dragged me to a lecturer's office back then in school but confirmed that if the men were on suit that the suit would be carrying them since they would be standing or sitting on top of the suit. 😂😂😂
