Stolen Phone Lands Couple In HOT Soup....

A husband and wife have landed in serious trouble after they were found with a phone belonging to a woman who was kidnapped and murdered in Imo state.

The husband found with the mobile phone of 45-year-old Mrs. Amaka Okere, who was kidnapped and murdered in Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, said the phone was given to him by his wife.

According to Vanguard, the duo identified as Emeka Adibe his wife, Monica were paraded by the Imo State Police Command in Owerri, on tuesday

Giving details of the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, said: “You will recall that on March 1, Mrs Amaka Okere, aged 45, of Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, was kidnapped and murdered.

"Investigations are in progress. Emeka Adibe and Monica Adibe were arrested on June 15 in Rivers State and the victim’s telephone handset recovered from them.”

While confessing, Mrs Adibe said it was her twin sister’s husband who gave her the phone.

Monica said: “I am a native of Arochukwu in Abia State; I am married with two kids. I went for a child dedication in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

“While preparing to return home, my sister’s husband gave me a phone. I did not know it was not his. When I returned home, my husband saw the phone, took it and started using it; the Police arrested him.

“I came to ask why he was arrested and the Police also arrested me.”

Her husband Mr. Emeka Adibe, said: “I swear, I don’t know anything about the phone. It is my wife that brought it and the police saw it and arrested me. This phone has put me in trouble.”

*They should arrest the twin sister's husband before parading them.I wonder why the Police always rushes to parade  without full investigations first.

Watch the kind of phone you are gifted,if it is not brand new, dont accept it!...

This is why I always advice people not to buy 2nd hand phone. Buy brand new phone if you want to buy.

Nigeria police are stupid sha..what if they are not guilty. Why expose their faces? E nor go better for nigeria police men

So if the twin's husband knows that they have been arrested because of the phone, he will sit in his house and wait for the police to show up.

Nigeria police repent ooooo!!!!! This story should have been released after the sister's husband and other related criminals are arrested. Its so clear why the police and other authorities keep failing and losing cases. This is so stupid it's suspect.

This is an unfortunate incident that is why they advice people not to buy used phone because some are stolen phones.

This should serve as a warning to those that buy second hand phones, if you must buy let it be from a shop where you will be given receipt to avoid stories like this.

My last phone was my brother's phone. After the "real owners" of my lumia took it, he gave it to me. If I can't trust my blood brother, who then? As for buying used phones, what we should advise is that we buy from shops or people who can issue receipts. If I can't afford a new phone, shouldn't I buy what I can afford with specifications I want?
