So many of them came to mind as I read this but if some people do not see you giving, how will they be encouraged to give?

Oh we know some are show offs, but there are also genuine ones

    1. Wrong. The Bible said the next person next to u must not know what u t giving out!!!!!

    2. Enigma if you are a Christian I believe the bottom line is to give without your left hand knowing what your right hand did.
If we are talking outside this premise, call a TV station it doesn't matter.

    3. I can't judge which is right or wrong. Some go with cameras for accountability purposes. What we should all be worried about is if the children get what is accrued to them because most of the workers take what is given and either resell or consume personally.

    4. @pureNigera if they should try n eat or consume... Chai, they will suffer for it.. Awon ole buruku..

    2. Only Naija yeyebrities na displaying cartons of indomie and tissue. How many Hollywood celebs do that. I'm guessing none. Yet most of them have donated millions of dollars. If u must give, do it whole heartedly and be discreet about it.

  3. Na true Shaa

But my Bible say, if you give, don't let your left hand know that you are giving.. .That is, don't announce it

I was in @RCCG in Lekki years ago and @Pastor Adeboye was in the church, he gave out cars that day, he did not announce it... News paper no carry am

You don't have to announce to everyone when you help someone or help the needy... Most times, these people do that just for pride sake.. And I tell you, there is no reward or blessings in such

    1. @Galore but when Adeboye was giving the cars you and the whole congregation knew. i.e. he did not call individuals to his office and hand them the car keys discreetly? In that case, Adeboye was playing to the gallery! He was playing a gimmick for more contributions. One day you all eyes will open.

  4. And again, some people are answerable to others example, NGO's so, they need pictoral proves. It all boils down to intentions in the end

    1. Personaly, the ONLY reasom i take pictures are for rememberance and with the person(s) cos i always fall in inlove with them especially children, never a picture with the substance. But while some take pictures for posing, some do for genuine reasons

    2. Same girl take to the NGO and not social media

    3. Nobody said don't take pictures, just don't come and announce them to everyone and take credit while make the people you helped feel so little and helpless.
You think the needy don't have shame, have pride or any reputation worth preserving too?

  7. it is more blessed, rewarding and preferable to give in secret than in public. We are often encouraged to give charity In way that our left hand doesn't know what our right hand has spent. But that doesn't mean that if you give publicly esp to encourage giving, it is invalid.

It's usually the intention behind the giving that matters. If you are giving in public just for showoff, have incincere intentions or to recieve praises from men, then your charity is null and void, but if your intention is pure, then its valid.

    I'm outtie

  9. Some show off alright..

But some take pictures to encourage others to give! All that matters is the giving

    1. All the no sex before marriage we've been preaching to encourage others they did hear . Abeg ! It's now charity you are encouraging by showing. Plain show off that's what it's called nothing more .

  10. Truth is most times when people give publicly, thier intentions aren't sincere. It's just for the praises of men, or they have alterior motives.

  11. Fact! It not genuine if you take camera crew along with you to capture every detail or moment so u can post on social media. Whatever u give to the needy in secret will be captured and documented by God and he will reward u openly.

  12. I don't blame them cause na we go first question them if them no do... but for me I don't carry cameras along, I don't even snap with dem but I was inspired by those celebs that post pics online. .....

  13. Some just take the pictures for their own record keeping.

  14. 2“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Mathew 6

  15. My question is : How will you prove to sponsors like UNICEF, etc that you are doing charity work? Will you carry the people to various offices? Big organisations want evidence and that is why the pictures become very necessary. Don't get me wrong, i'm talking about genuine people who help others.

  20. One thing is our celebrity's and showing off are 5 & 6, yes nobody is saying they shouldn't take pictures but hey must we all know they did that, after all the Bible said so

  21. You people will remember to quote bible but oyibo celebrities will carry CNN and do a whole show of their humanitarian effort, you will clap for them e.g Angelina Jolie, Rhianna, Leonardo DiCaprio etc but if our fellow Nigerian celebrities just mention or post pictures of their humanitarian effort e.g psquare and Duncan might we will be quoting the Bible on how to give in secret ,but you will still go to their page and be asking who you epp.pls let them give in whatever manner they wish as long as they put a smile on someone's face.

  22. You people and your double standards. In as much as the Bible doesn't support show off of generosity, the same Bible also says you people should not envy, keep malice, abuse people, steal, tell lies, commit murder, Gossip, covet your neighbor's property and so on.
Those of you hiding under "judge not" are very funny people. The main reason you use that part of the scriptures is simply because you don't want to be called out when you do the same thing others are being reprimanded for. So, if you believe in judge not, also learn to keep quiet when you hear of a side chick dating or getting married to a married man. Her sin and yours are equal before God. Stop being hypocritical.

  23. I don't see anything wrong with it

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nothing wrong with it. Isn't it Nigerians that go on about how pastor's and actors and actresses don't help or give things to orphanage? You troll them they anf night saying they don't do this or that. Now they give and send pictures for you to see they are giving and you are quoting Bible. Mtcheww

Allow them give and post every where if they want. At least that will close the mouth of the people who would want to tell them how they are not helping the less privileges. At the end, they have giving

That's how you come here and attack pastors. Saying all they do is collect from people without helping the poor. Meanwhile they are busy helping the poor. But because they have not televised it or sent to the media, you attack them for no just cause. If they send to media, you will say they are showing off. How exactly do they please you people?
