    1. Heard about it tho. Dunno why. All I know is that the #NotTooYoungToRun campaign has yeilded result. We marched from unity fountain to national assembly on Tuesday to demonstrate and finally our voice was heard. Any Nigerian national from 35 years old can now run for presidency.

    2. How stupid are we in this country? It is ok to allow wack ass military guys that did coup in the past to come and rule again but not allow a civilian Vice President to contest a second term. Dumb motherfuckers !

  5. Stella the amendment from my understanding does not preclude him. It states that any vice president who had completed a tenure of a sitting president and contested a fresh four years mandate shall not be eligible to run for a second term of office. The present vice president is not completing the tenure of Buhari. My greatest annoyance is the 35% affirmative action for women both at the federal and state level that did not sail through. so painful a thing for NASS to do.

  6. Stella to my own knowledge he can contest in 2019 oo, just that he can only use one term, in fact if Buhari comes back and take over the amendment will not affect him anymore. na Jonathan no go fit contest again

    1. Yeah, they did it cos of goodluck Jonathan. They should have also included if your papa or relation done rule before cos they don't lead in Nigeria you don't contest.

And for the new age requirement for contesting election, make una no happy much cos their children are abroad schooling and those who are done are there to take over And the circle continues. God help and bless Nigeria

  7. Maybe you should bring the part that states why he can't be eligible to run in 2019.. That way we can have something to say. That's the only way we can discuss it without going off point.

Has the Nigerian press been bought over such that they did not report that any amendment was going on?

  11. The amendment states that a vp that completes d tenure of a president cant run second term if he eventually becomes a president after winning a first election.
If osibanjo for instance completes buharis tenure as a result of anything he would be able to contest 2019 but not for a second term in 2023

    1. You are right. I think they don't want anyone in power for more than 8 years . If a vp completes a left over term and wins 2 tems, it will be more than 8 years.
