Garbiñe Muguruza Defeats Venus Williams To Win Wimblendon

23 year old Garbiñe Muguruza defeated Venus Williams on Saturday grand slam singles to win her first ever Wimbledon ....

She did it in brilliant fashion on Saturday, triumphing at Wimbledon by defeating the five-time champion Venus Williams, 7-5, 6-0.

Muguruza is 14 years younger than Williams and watched the America star play as she grew up

“I grew up watching her play, so it’s incredible to play her in the final,” Muguruza said of Williams as she accepted the Venus Rosewater Dish, which is awarded to the women’s champion.

Muguruza is now the first Spanish woman to win the singles title since Conchita Martínez in 1994....

 Muguruza,will be at No. 5 in the WTA rankings on Monday while Williams will be No. 9...

  3. Venus was blown away. I was rooting for her, but I guess she ran out of gas when it mattered most.

    Her kind of ailment doesn't give her room to recover on time.

    Getting her itself is a win for her. Two Grand Slam finals already this year for a 37yr old? That's superb!
