This was said by the founder of Ohaneze in South Africa, Chief Jonas Udeji, who noted that the stance of its national body not to boycott the Anambra governorship election is in order.
Nnamdi Kanu had called for the boycott of the Nov. 18 election in Anambra.
But the National President of Ohaneze, John Nwodo, had addressed legislators in Anambra and told them to ignore the directive.
Udeji speaking in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday said that Kanu was not qualified to give such a directive on behalf of the Igbos.
“Ohaneze Ndigbo remains the apex body of Igbos in Nigeria and world-wide.
“No single individual will give any order on behalf of Igbos if that person is not the elected President of Ohaneze.
“We understand Nnamdi Kanu`s emotions about the plight of Igbos in Nigeria. But, he should realise that we have a leader and that is Nwodo.
“He is the one to speak on behalf of Igbos,” he said.
Udeji urged Anambra people and other South Eastern states to ignore such directive from IPOB and elect their leaders when the opportunity comes.

This Ohaneze Ndigbo should be ashamed... For many years of their existence they haven't done any tangible thing for their people, only dining and wining with politicians. It is only people living outside igboland that won't know the type of crowd and respect Nnamdi Kanu exudes. I was at Onitsha and enugu last weekend and witnessed his great influence over the people there, both young and old. I smell envy an jealousy from Ohaneze cause their people never recognized them the way they do to NK.
