Lekki Floods:Toke Makinwa's Ex Maje Ayida Asks Ambode To Return His Tax Money

On Sunday Maje took to his social media handle to lend his voice on the flooding in Lagos.

He condemned the way Nigerians have been making a joke of the situation. He also berates the government for ignoring the plight of the affected residents and asks that the taxes he paid be refunded.

    2. I don't know what about "nature" people don't understand. There is nothing anyone can DO! Know one should be living in lekki in the first place. There is an ocean overflow and it will get worse with time-global warming people???duh- even if the drains were clear and the water flowed into the ocean the sea/lagoon/ocean was already over its limit and it will flow back. Nigerians are fucking stupid or refuses to see logic sometimes. Maje I now realize is ignorant. In fact ambode should increase the tax-do you know how much Lagos as a state is trying to keep up with the constant inflow of people moving in everyday? 86,000 per day move into Lagos. Lekki resident should move to ikorudo per or somewhere. Please make we hear word.

    3. And while you have stated facts. I disagree that people cannot live in Lekki. People have been living on that axis since forever abeg.
      1. Then there werent this many people obviously and as such less pollution, less trash. Less stress
      2. When people did move there they were just building without a plan. I dare anyone to show me a masyer plan for the areas beyond Lekki phase 1 down to Epe. If you build on a drain or block a canal to build your house errrrr...what do u expect will happen.
      3. People and bad habits of not taking environmemtal sanitation seriously have added to this. We are all blameworthy

  4. Yes! Stop collecting tax from us if you can't channel the money towards achieving the right course.

They'll just keep deducting ones salary that is not even enough all in the name of tax.

The problem is not with tax or no tax.The lion share of the problem lies with the citizens'approach to waste disposal.
Another factor is the general trend in the environment. If you are conversant with the news, you would have seen the goings on in
China,India,& a host of other countries.
Before we rush to the social media to give off pretensions of intelligence, the least we can do is to use the one of the most important gifts the good Lord has blessed us with;the brain.

  6. The guy is 100% right! People are joking about the life and livelihood of others.

That area was never meant be a residential area, the reason it was once called Lekki peninsula.

God help all those affected. So, there's still no emergency services available?

    1. Exactly... It wasn't meant to be at all. The people that masterminded the sandfilling of those areas don't even live in those areas. Anything that pass vi I can't deal at all.

  7. Ambode should look at the roads. Babs Animashaun leading to Orile Bus Stop is not good especially at Savage Road. The water there has taken over the roads and it has spoilt much. Ambode come and give us our tax money back.

I know how much I am paying. Lekki people make una no vex. Enjoy it small

  8. His actually saying the fact, the government should do something AsAP, so many people were render homeless

  9. These floods are terrible. Ambode should do something Abeg. He shouldn't even wait till dry season. Alternative drainages can be made while they wait to erect the real one.
    I hope people survive.

  13. I could remember sometimes around 2004 when my cousin sent me to go deliver something to her friend who works in Leki, it wasn't fun at all, flood everywhere.
Now I know why my bro. paid for a new shop, saying that the one he has is always filled with water.
    God will see us through.

  16. I'm glad for the rain. It stopped my husband from paying for a house he has been doing strong head to pay for and I kept saying no. Because the whole of that area was flooded. Some of the houses there had water inside. And the ground level of the one we were suppose to pay for was low so I'm sure water enters

  22. Let CNN cover this news, you will see Ambode move.

I warmed my husband about lekki, but he would not listen. I pray we don't experience something more than this in the future.

  23. Not the fault of the state government. The government keeps clearing the drains and Nigerians continue to turn them into dustbins. We must learn to take responsibility for our failings as citizens. Government can only do so much. 😔

  24. It actually a blessing for a parent to give a child a house .....

    ReplyDelete
  25. I support that Ambode should do something about this: MARK THOSE HOUSES FOR DEMOLITION!

Those house built on drain canals that were sand-filled should all be demolished! And when they mark the houses, god punish anyone that would start any useless hashtag to complain.

    Mtscheew!
