Doctor's On Air Free Medical Mission for 2017

The Doctors on air Medical Mission in conjunction with Megalectrics Limited have again called on Nigerians to check their blood pressure regularly, as part of a regimen for a healthy living.




The call was reiterated by Mr. Tosin Otisanya, a representative of Pathcare Laboratories during the 5th Edition of the annual an annual Doctors on Air Free Medical Mission, held for the second time at the Yaba Local Council Development Area in Lagos, in collaboration with Classic fm 97.3 and sister station Naija fm 102.7.

Speaking to a throng of residents who besieged the venue grounds as part of an education/sensitization lecture, Otisanya revealed that many Nigerians experience health complications as a result of not checking their blood pressure regularly and taking precaution.

He advised women in particular to do cervical screening stressing that cervical disease kills about 64% of women in Nigeria every year.

The yearly event which provides free Public health care for local residents, saw the health screening of no less than 2,000 residents attended to. The teeming crowd also received Medical counselling and advice from a team of volunteer doctors available for the exercise.

Hundreds also accessed free eye test, HIV screening, cancer screening, Hepatitis screening and free drug dispensation.

In his remarks, newly elected Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Honorable Omiyale Kayode Adejare who expressed appreciation to organizers of the program, described health as number one priority of his administration, adding that the initiative was significant seeing it being held barely a month after he was elected Chairman of the council.

Also speaking Director Sales and marketing at Megalectrics, Mrs Amira Obi-Okoye adjudged the 5th edition of Doctors On Air Free Medical Mission as the most successful in terms of response from members of the public, provision of drugs and availability of medical personnel.

She also hinted that the CSR program would subsequently be extended to other local government to enable more radio Listeners benefit from the gesture.

The Free Medical Mission in partnership with; the Lagos state Blood donation service, Bridge Clinic, Mopheth Pharmacy, The Eye doctors, Medplus, Healthplus, Fidson Healthcare, Megacare limited, Skye Dental, Chike Okoli Foundation, CDMA LUTH and many more.
