Labour Minister Dr. Chris Ngige Says One Of His Children Is Affected By ASUU Strike

Chris Ngige, minister of labour and employment, says one of his children is affected by the indefinite strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

Speaking at the end of the federal executive council meeting on Wednesday, the minister said the government is doing its best to reach an agreement with the union and put an end to the strike.

“Students who are supposed to take their exams and promotional exams have been forced by circumstances beyond their control to stay at home,” Ngige said.

“I have one of my child at home as we speak. Government is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that we reach a conclusive agreement with ASUU so that they can go back to the class room.
“This is the first national strike that this government is facing and we want to discuss.

“At council meeting, the vice-president took over some of the aspects of the negotiations and discussions. So, we are continuing the meeting in his office and when we finish meeting, we will get back to ASUU for another round of meeting and we are hopeful that we will be able to go to an appreciable extent to solve some of the outstanding issues that is preventing them from going back to work.”

-From The Cable

*That's Good...This means there is hope that they will call-off the strike soon....

    1. Stella, is he going to tell you when he moves his child abroad?
How do you trust anything these politricktians say?
How many of his kids are abroad studying?
That one that is "affected by the strike", does he/she need the degree; for e.g
to get government contracts or be in the national assembly?

  4. As much as I want it to be called off so I can write my exams and move on with my life, the issues ASUU raised should be dealt with once and for all! You don't cure malaria by tackling only headache.

  7. Barracudianusaurusunamon - Hi, guys, it's me again.

firstly, well said, Anonymous23:45, these "Politricktcians" are not to be trusted, it is without doubt that if his son is affected by this ASUU strike then a solution would have been arrived at, as it not been long enough, this is just terrible governing, even in ordinary "Ghana", they seldom go on strike like its a father-son fishing trip. honestly, this is irritating, he took to the media to tell us a pathetic story of his son being caught in the red zone, when we all know that is plain old hypocrisy and high-end folly.

They should try something new, now we know all their tricks and whatnot. Appalling team of pot-bellied over-groomed oh-so important politicians and their propaganda.

If your son is affected, the do something about it, you have no idea how this affects the students.
