Police Say Suspects Have Been Arrested In The Ozubulu Church Massacre

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra Garba Umar has said that some suspects have been arrested in connection with Sunday’s killings at St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu, in the state.

Umar told newsmen on Monday that the number of those arrested would not be disclosed so as not to jeopardise ongoing investigation into the massacre of 11 persons by unknown gunmen.

The gunmen attacked the church while Mass was going on, and apart from the dead, no fewer than 18 others have been hospitalised for gunshot injuries.

The commissioner had on Sunday said that the attack was an isolated case of a feud between two individuals from the same community. He added that the police had contacted some persons who would be useful in the investigation.

  3. Nice one.
Keep the important Info regarding the arrests away from the press for now to get all the miscreants. I pray they get rounded up!

This Drug War just made me remember how Killers traced Don Corlene(Michael) to Sicily and mistakenly bombed his new wife in his Car thinking he was driving.

  11. Which nonsense suspects!!! Its a lie...The Police are protecting them..They know them..Dont be surprised the alleged man is their sponsor; providing them patrol vans and all..This is the same thing Escobar did..They will just pick random people from the street and say they are suspects..Na lie..I heard the media wanted to interview the stepmother of "Bishop" yesterday and an elderly man cautioned her to keep quiet..So the whole Ozubulu know whatsgwan even Obiano is aware..Police will do nothing..

    1. God bless you @2muchjuice. The Sunday(6/8/17) this incident occurred police used the opportunity to arrest and extort people indiscriminately! My husband and I were driving back from Amawbia. When we were on that Onitsha/Owerri/PH express road (perhaps around Ozubulu community) police check points were like 1pole away from each other. Our papers were very complete until the the last check point in that community, police held us and clearly told us that we should roger them before passing else they'll shoot our tire.
We think say na play o.
They told us that robbers attacked a church and used a vehicle like ours. They alleged that my husband was impersonating a military officer. As we De talk this one police Don bring out military uniform. Like play like play, they say they'll take us to SARS. Entered our vehicle and asked us to drive along. I just thought if these people can do this type of thing korokoro, it means NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!
      I fear Nigerian Police ooh!!!
We paid Police N38,000:00 after BEEEEEGGING for more than two hrs.
Sergeant NICHOLAS OKOLIE (he said he's from Delta and Gov. Okowa trained his son in school) AMEH JAMES with badge no.417746(I don't know his rank) na your eye strong pass, God will judge you and your cohorts. You all will certainly reap what you sow.
Anywhere that you go you'll pay those monies 1000 fold, your children will pay and continue paying those monies bc they they debts their fathers have incurred!
These men collected all the money on us and even made my husband go use the ATM. Called bike to take him to the nearest ATM and made us wait on the highway for over 2 hrs for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Now Police have arrested innocent people and called them suspects? If you believe this you'll believe anything!
