Following the interception of over 1,500 arms of various sizes and designs, the Nigeria Customs Service yesterday arrested and detained 28 officers working at the Tin-Can Island Command of the Service.
The agency made good its promise to fish out and prosecute officers involved in the plan to clear a container laden with arms and ammunition.
Officers of the command have become jittery as a result of the action of the Customs management as it was gathered that many more officers are likely to be axed as a result of the development.
It was also gathered that the detained officers whose names could not be immediately ascertained, have been rounded up and are being interrogated to determine their level of involvement in the botched plan to ferry the container of arms out of the port undetected

ReplyDeleteMy own is they should fish out the importer of the arms and ammunitions.
DeleteWho imported them and for what purpose?
Na wa. Very good of them. They should be flushed out
ReplyDeleteThey are all the same
ReplyDeleteI heard from a reliable source that those arms where meant for Ipob,to instigate crime in Nigeria during her Independent Celebration.
ReplyDeleteIf this is true, then may God in heaven help us.

ReplyDeleteWho are the ones ordering arms into the country each time?!! God have mercy on Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteLet them publish their names first, then we'll know their agenda. Let them not use this as an excuse to dismiss/retire South eastern and South southern officers as they did in the army.
ReplyDeleteI know some Coustom officers are involved in this illegal arms importation.
ReplyDeleteThere's a freight forwarder involved and someone was behind the scanner and some officers was there for physical inspection.
There's no how you can take container out of port without those two process and many more.
