Diezani Now Stays In Rented London Flat Amidst £11m Asset Forfeiture Woes

Nigeria’s former minister of petroleum resources Diezani Alison-Madueke, has decided to cut down her taste following the order by Nigerian courts forcing her to permanently forfeits assets worth £11 million to the Federal Government.

She had “Stepped down” on her taste and is now living in a rented apartment in the same London building housing, the $2.8 million property allegedly bought for her by Jide Omokore and Kola Aluko, her business associates.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen accounts linked to the former minister, including those belonging to family members and known associates. This makes it virtually impossible for her to access money from any source and she is now living off the goodwill of those who still remember her.

Nigerian courts have already forced Alison-Madueke to forfeit her property at Banana Island, Lagos. It reportedly has 24 apartments, 18 flats and six penthouses valued at $37.5 million.

She was also recently forced to forfeit about N7.6 billion “hidden” in a Nigerian bank, in addition to the temporary forfeiture of property worth $21,392,224 across Nigeria.

The Former Minister is expected to report to the Charring Cross Police Station close to Trafalgar Square on September 20 as part of the conditions of her bail after her arrest by the British National Crime Agency in 2015.

  9. A good name is worth much more than billions of rubies. While growing up I had an understanding that women leaders were worthy of emulation, cause they get things done without being greedy(the likes of Dora Akunyili)what does she need so much money for? And I heard she is undergoing chemotherapy, how will she survive it without rest of mind. Our leaders should learn from her. Tomorrow is unpredictable. Learn to live right, so you can come to equity with clean hands

  11. As long as Nigerians continue to frown at corruption, insist on accountability and transparency, we will be fine.

Please we need to stop the RANKA DEDE
SIR mentality for those who have stolen our future and those of our unborn generation. These people are criminals and should be treated as such. They must be brought to book at all cost. If there is no hiding place here or abroad, they will think twice before robbing us blind and keeping the masses in abject poverty. What is one person doing with these huge amount of money and properties? How many rooms can she sleep in - in one night?

That aside, did you know that diesel and petrol cars will be banned in 2040 in the Western world (feel free to goggle this). So Nigerians which way now? What's the game plan for the future? Who's going to buy our crude oil? Where is the resources and money to embezzle going to come from?

2040 is not that far away? Think!

    1. When that happen, I pray the economy would have been built on another commodity or commodities.. If not, angry and hungry Nigerians might become physically aggressive towards politicians and their offsprings... Especially the ones from the present republic.
