Do Freelance Writing For Blogs or Businesses
If you’re good at writing, you can consider doing freelance writing for blogs as one way of earning an income as a student. Aside blogs, many businesses are looking for freelance writers to help them meet their writing and content creation needs, so you can take advantage of this and apply for freelance jobs with these businesses.
Consider Doing Online Design Work
For students who consider themselves artists, have a knack for graphic design and are really good with Coreldraw, Photoshop or other graphic design software, doing online design work, like making small graphics for advertisements and full site redesigns for websites and businesses, can be a great way to earn an income. Students can also consider entering design competitions that offer monetary awards for winners, and stand a chance to get paid a good amount of money if they win.
Consider Becoming a Voice-Over Artist
Doing voice-over work for production companies and advertising agencies is another great way to earn an income as a student. If you have a great voice and some broadcasting talent, you can apply for voice-over opportunities and get paid doing voice-over work for people and businesses.
Do Printing Jobs
Considering the fact that students, especially university students, do a lot of printing work, you can set up a mini-printing business with an easily affordable deskjet printer whose inks can be easily refilled, and start printing for students at your own rates. You can set up this business close to any student’s hostel or even from your room, and be on your way to making some side income as a student.
Real Estate/House Agent
As a student, if you are conversant with your locality, you can use your free time to search for accommodation for freshers and fellow students in your school environment, charging them a commissions/agents fee for your service.
Sell Your Skills
Whatever skill you have, offer it as a service to people at a cost. If you are good at cooking, considering providing catering services to those in need of it at a reasonable cost. If you are good at sewing, considering making clothes for people at a cost. If you’re good at phone or computer repairs and maintenance, also consider providing this service to people at a cost. You only need to ensure that you market your skills well, and put yourself out there so people can see what you have to offer. You can also sell your services on online sites like Fiverr, Jumia Food etc.

ReplyDeleteThen if you're computer literate and have a laptop, you can type projects, assignments, handouts etc. I know someone who trained himself working in the schools cafeteria just helping people with their assignments and anything that has to do with printing. You'd be surprised the number of lazy undergraduates who'd rather pay than have these things done themselves.

ReplyDeleteMy classmate sold snacks and recharge cards in her little carton she use to carry to school. We became friends during our final year, was so surprised when she told me how much she makes from that business and till today, I regret not doing any business in school. For the not computer guru like me, pick one small business and be doing, in fact my neighbour use to cook sweet moimoi three times a week and the lodge will eat more than half before she supply it outside so don't have any excuse to sit idle at all.

2) Sell accessories at reasonable cost
3) Start a small catering business for students .
4) Make toast bread and tea for breakfast and dinner for students
5) Model for brands
6) Take up ushering jobs for events and parties
7) Take up promoters job for companies like NBL, Guinness, Nestle amongst others. Register with an agency.
8) Teach students for a fee especially during exam. This requires you to be the master of the course
9) Teach younger ones for a fee
10) Organise school trips at a reasonable cost
11) Manage on line business for busy businee owners. Eg manage their instagram accounts, face book etc by developing reasonable contents
12) Write projects for fellow students and assignments
13) Learn how to fix nails and charge a reasonable cost
Buying and selling also need money to start. What if the person can't get the capital? Okrika business needs at least 30k.
DeleteDearest students, just get 10k and use to buy your ingredients needed for peanut making. Once u have your gas, pot for frying and bowls for mixing, you are good to go.
But get ready to work o. It's not easy. I did it for sometime but my body see pepper sha.

Get hold of a stall and set up one. Have reliable people cook and serve for you,probably a woman from the village or town your school is located.
Buy 'Bend down select' during the holidays and sell them off in school.
Affordable accesories could work too.
You could sell recharge card. I hear the returns isn't much but there is little or no stress in subscribing with these VTUs and sending airtime to anyone that requests on campus. Easy,Breezy.

Or how do u know expect a poor student to raise money to buy a laptop or even printer or photocopying machine? Remember you also need generator o.

If u own a buka, how do u intend paying the cook? If u can own a buka, it means u r not a struggling student na. We r talking about students that can't even get 10k from their parents o.

I remember I bought wedding souvenirs for two couples who were about to wed and the first person gave me the job because of trust which doesn't come easily knowing fully well it's my first time of doing such business.
Do small snacks and sell please and save yourself stress. Do something u can sell off easily. Even though it might be stressful but it will be worth it.
After my friend started making as much as 20k from just peanuts, I had to borrow myself brain and join her. But it's so so extremely, in fact annoyingly stressful but the gain is worth it.
Start with small snacks first.
