Mama Taraba Reportedly Apologises To APC Over Comments On Buhari

APC, Thursday, summoned the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Aisha Alhassan, over comments regarding her political allegiance ahead of the 2019 presidential elections. .

This was as the party said the minister has apologised to it over the comments which it said were not well-thought out. The minister had recently pledged her unflinching loyalty to former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

Confirming the essence of the meeting, spokesman of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, said, “Yes, the party invited her and she has come. When she came, we asked her to explain to us what truly transpired and in what context she said what she said and she did offer these explanations. .

Now, having offered her explanations, we acknowledged that as a member of this party, she is entitled to her opinion and she is entitled to her choice. .

However, as a senior member of this party, her statements represent an act of indiscretion because with the kind of position she occupies even within the party, she is a party leader in her own right, what she said was not what she was supposed to say at the time that she said it.

She ought to have exercised greater judgement than she did. She acknowledged that yes, maybe she ought not to have…maybe the timing was wrong and she apologised that if she had put the party in any difficult position, she apologised.”

  3. It is not about her supporting Atiku, it is about her indiscretion as a leader and a position holder both within the party and as a nation.

with the current many issues facing Nigeria, it is incorrect for her to say she supports Atiku because he his her godfather. It implies that she cares about 1man Atiku than the welfare of the people.

As a leader in all sphere of life, you choose your words. You dont just talk. She could have said "Atiku will make a good leader and I believe in his plans for Nigeria moreover I have a proven personal relationship with him so when and if the time comes i will support him and probably encourage other too. SIMPLE! that even portrays her as a matured and seasoned intellectual.

what she has done now portrays her as a selfish, biased, unpatriotic person holding public office and putting the lives and interest 150million people at stake for her selfish interest or ambition with Atiku.

Moreover Nigeria has serious issues she should be dealing with under her Ministry she should be seen to be concentrating on those and not meddling with 2019 elections. honestly her action in this regard is appalling and dishonorable for a leader in any aspect of Life.

I really wish they train these guys before they take up elective offices. Even in her person house/or home if she has any, if she makes these sort of utterances she will be damaging her own children's future. talk less of a whole nation.

You see it just shows why Nigeria is not moving forward for a lot of them being in the office is just joke even when they see the system rotting away.As far as their interests are protected they are fine.

God help all of us and give us wisdom in these matters of life. Amen.
    I close my case here.

    1. By this action the Buhari and Osinbajo presidency has revealed themselves as egotistical and selfish. What is the big deal with Mama Taraba supporting Atiku? Isn't Atiku a member of the same APC?

  5. From the the write up I like the way APC addressed the issue, it shows a high level of maturity from the part of the party, cos she was given the opportunity of defending her self

  6. There is a big issue. It shows lack of commitment to the present regime she is serving under. If she truly had integrity, she would state her opinion and honorably resign to focus on campaigning for Atiku.
