Catalans Declare Independence From Spain

The Catalan regional parliament has voted to declare independence from Spain, while the Spanish parliament has approved direct rule over the region.

In a major escalation of Spain’s territorial conflict, the Spanish Senate on Friday authorized the government to take direct control of the fractious region of Catalonia, just after Catalan lawmakers declared the region’s independence.

D Catalan declaration is null and void. D Spanish parliament had early revoked & dissolved d Catalan parliament's autonomy power. So from whc authority do they(Catalan parliament) derive the power to declare independence. They shd hv acted early. A case of making hay while d sun shines!
