Law Students Totalling Over One Thousand Will Not Be Called To Bar For Failing Final Exams

1272 students of the Nigeria Law school have reportedly failed the final examination conducted in August ..

The School's Head of Information and Protocol, Chinedu Ukekwe said out of a total of 5, 891 that participated in the examinations 1,272 candidates failed.

He said ...

29 students made First Class.
 211 Second Class Upper
 1, 046 Second Class Lower
2, 999 got a Pass, while 334 came out with conditional Pass.

However, 4, 285 candidates were reportedly successful and will be called to the Nigerian Bar.

Ukekwe added that the ‘Call to the Bar’ ceremony for the successful candidates will hold on Nov. 28 and 29 in Abuja.

There have always been stories about how difficult it is to pass Law school exams let alone making first class.
Pulse recently spoke to a student,  Oludare Subomi Onokoya who made first class in the previous Law School exams and he said:
"It wasn't easy, but I won't say it was too difficult either. It has a lot to do with mindset and believing that all obstacles are surmountable if a person is determined enough."

*Pass and conditional pass after all the money spent in school? Is there no Third Class?I think it should be upgraded to 3rd class and Pass..
Na wah,this is so sad!
Please Law Students here,I need to know...those who failed it out rightly, are they allowed to take the exams again?

  4. In law school you write 5 papers. Conditional pass is where you passed 4 papers and failed one. Fail is where you failed two courses and above. Pass is where your lowest score was between 40-49. Law school is based on lowest score graduation. So someone can have 4 A's and 1 D. The person will graduate with a pass becuz D was the lowest score. Which is unfair. You can only have a first class when you scored A in all five courses. when you fail you can rewrite 6 times after which if you do not make it, you have to go back to your school and apply afresh to law school to begin the process. The thing with not making it once in law school is when you are making the second attempt no matter how good your scores are, you will graduate with a pass.

  5. Let me tell you how law school calculate their result, we do 5 course, if one has A in 4 courses and have E in one, Stella that a pass, what ever you leave with in law school is the lowest score you have, have A in 4 courses then F in one that fail which is cond pass which is you are writing just one, then have A in 3 courses and fail 2 courses, you are writing all the courses all over again. So Stella you can imagine

  6. No be small thing o
They released that result late at night after giving people high bp..
My brother cried his eyes out for getting a second class lower...He was almost there :3 A's and 1 C. We were just cheering him up, telling him to thank God that made him pass well..."It was worse for some others" we said, but he always compares himself to the best.
He has always been that way saying, he has plans...kikikiki

Whereas some people are on suicide watch, it is well and may God comfort them.
Law school is tough and their grading system is strict.

    1. Hol up! He told you guys that? That he had three A's and 2 Credit😂😂😂? Your bro is just gassing himself and gaming y'all.
Fellow lawyers, does NLS now give details/breakdown of one's performance in various courses?
Your bro should sit his ass down and stop feeling special cos his so called 2.2 isn't better than the person who had a pass!

    3. I went to Abuja campus law school.. it is not an open thing. It is coded. If you know someone who works in the computer room the person can tell you your break down. I had 4 B's and 1 C. So I had 2:2.. my dear I am grateful oh.. to think the course I was scared of was the course I had a B. Then the one wey I do over Sabi Naim give me C. Law school is not by who read pass or who know book pass but it is God's mercies and favour

  7. Conditional pass candidates will have to resit the failed course numbering just one, whereas failure in more courses attracts going back to law school for the stipulated one year....You can go back to law school as many times as possible.

    1. Not as many times, only 6times if one can't still make it then you go home

    2. That is a lie, failure in all courses means resit in all while conditional resist just one.
